What's in My: Handbag

I love when magazines or beauty publications look into different celebrities or editors handbags.  Because of this I thought it would be fun to dump my handbag and share the contents with you!  I basically carry around my life in my purse and call it my "Mary Poppins Bag" because it has everything you could ever need in it.  Below I'm breaking down for you exactly what I fill my bag with!

The bag:

The contents:
Fendi Sunglasses (similar here): I got these at the beginning of the summer at Nordstrom Rack and am totally obsessed with them!

Conair Mini Hairbrush: I like to touch up my hair throughout the day if I remember to and this is especially helpful if it's windy out.

Kate Spade New York Mini Square Stud Earrings: I wore these the other day and took them off on the way home, I landed up throwing them in my bag and haven't taken them out yet.

Crème Brûlée Vaseline: I was really excited when this came out because I thought it would smell amazing, but it doesn't smell as good as I was hoping.  I still like Vaseline though for when my lips or nose get dry so I keep it in my bag.

Ernest Hemingway Glasses: These are my prescription glasses that I use for distance.  I keep them in my bag for movies, shows, sporting events, and used to wear them all the time to see the board in class.

Clinique Super City Block Oil Free Daily Face Protector SPF 40: This is a sample from Clinique, but I used to use this years ago and need to get the full size because it's the best.  It goes on nicely over or under makeup and does a great job of protecting your skin from the sun's harmful rays.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella: This is the perfect matte red lipstick and it stays on through anything.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien: This color is a your lips, but better color for me.  I love to wear this when I have a natural makeup look and it's my go to lipstick.

Dr. Bronner's Organic Lip Balm in Peppermint: I love this because it sort of melts onto your lips and leaves them feeling super moisturized, not to mention it smells amazing.

Neosporin: I like to keep this in my bag in case I get any cuts or blisters and I usually have a few Band-Aids too, but I recently ran out.

Bath & Body Works PocketBac Sanitizing Hand Gel: I get sick really easily so I always have hand sanitizer on me.  I love the ones from Bath & Body Works because they smell great!

Hair Ties: I keep these in case I need to put my hair up.

Nivea Creme: This is great for any dry spots or for a thick hand cream.

iPhone 6 with Casetify Case: A must have, always.

Lilly Pulitzer Carded ID Smartphone Wristlet: This was what I used at school since I had to tap my ID for everything and I haven't changed back to my other wallet yet.

Kleenex Pocket Pack Tissues: My nose is always running so these are really important for me.

Vera Bradley Travel Pill Case: I take a lot of medication and this is great for keeping it in my purse.

Trident Gum: The basic Trident is my favorite gum and leaves my breath super fresh.

Sharpie: I threw this in my bag for something I can't remember and never took it out.

Tampon: I have a few of these in my bag and think it's important to always carry them.

Dove Go Fresh Deodorant: Not to be TMI, but I sweat a lot so I like to keep this in my bag to keep things fresh.

Altoids Smalls: I really like having fresh breath.

Nail File: Having a nail break and not having something to fix it drives me crazy so I like to have a nail file in every bag.

Lactase: I'm lactose intolerant so I get a giant box of these from Costco and keep them everywhere so I have them whenever I want to eat dairy.

Earphones: I fall asleep on long car rides and always put these in with music on to block out the other sounds.

Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion: My hands get really dry so I keep this in my bag to use as hand lotion.

So this is what's in my handbag, what's in yours?!

What's in My: Makeup Bag

I haven't shared what I keep in my makeup bag in quite some time!  Since the last time I did share my makeup routine has almost entirely changed.  I feel like my makeup has matured with me and I'm much better at doing it now.  I've learned so many new tips and have been using some products I really love.  At this point I have my everyday look pretty set, but I love to experiment with makeup when I'm going out or shooting pictures for here.  I've been thinking about expanding makeup posts on here recently and figured this was the perfect place to start!  I may have some more makeup posts and even a surprise in the upcoming weeks and months.

Below I'm breaking down and giving you all the details on everything in my makeup bag.

EYES

Urban Decay Naked2 Palette- The colors in this palette are so versatile and can easily create countless different looks.  I also really love the consistency, wearability, and staying power of Urban Decay's eyeshadows.

Lilly Pulitzer for Estée Lauder Pure Color EyeShadow- This is the palette I grab if I'm going somewhere for the weekend and don't want to bring a lot.  It has a few neutral shades, as well as a few bold shades, which means I can do a lot of different looks with it.  The shadows are richly pigmented and nicely compliment each other.

SEPHORA COLLECTION NY Palette- Jordyn got me this for Christmas and it's such a fun palette!  It has three brown shadows and a gorgeous silver one.  The silver is my favorite in the palette and I love wearing it when I'm going out!

Lancôme Eye Brightening All-In-One 5 Shadow & Liner Palette in Taupe Craze- I recently got this when I purchased a lipstick from Lancôme.  I haven't had the chance to use it yet, but the colors are gorgeous and have the most beautiful shimmer.  This palette is not only intended to be used as eyeshadow, but as eyeliner too.

shu uemura Eyelash Curler- This is the ultimate eye lash curler and has a cult following.  It has a great pad and gives the "perfect curl."

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original- Another product with a cult following this is the best eyeshadow primer I've ever used.  I've tried a few different brands and I go back to this again and again.  I've been using it for 8 or 9 years now and plan to use it for many more.

Dior Diorshow Mascara- This is another product with a cult following and has reached holy grail status for many people.  This mascara is known for it's large brush, which is something I love.  It has great color and wearability and I also love the way it smells!

Benefit Cosmetics Stay Don't Stray in Light/Medium- I use this for two reasons, first as a primer for under eye concealer and second as a concealer on my eyelids.  I primarily use this for the first reason mentioned and it does an amazing job of holding my concealer in place.  When I use it on my eyelids I use it over the Primer Potion because it does not hold eyeshadow as well as it does concealer; I use it to give a nice even color to my otherwise veiny eyelids.

COVERGIRL Professional Natural Lash in Clear- I use this as a brow gel.  I've been using this for over ten years and it does a great job of making sure my brows are all in place and look great.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in Black- I've written about this a lot recently on here because it is amazing.  Read more about why I love it so much here.

COVERGIRL Intensify Me! Liquid Liner in Intense Black- COVERGIRL sent this to me a few months back before it was launched and I've been using it since then.  I love liquid liner and this one is okay, not my favorite, but for now it does the job.

Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony- I also got this when I purchased a lipstick from Lancôme.  I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like a very dark black and I can't wait to try it.

FACE

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated in Luminous- I've recently started using this and have completely fallen in love with it.  It is the most gorgeous shimmer powder that looks great on my skin.  Read more about why I love this here.

tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess- This is another new product and I'm still not sure how I feel about it.  You can read more about my thoughts on it here.

Benefit Cosmetics Coralista Powder Blush- I haven't been using this as much recently because I purchased the blush below.  I did use this for a few years though and it gives a gorgeous coral/bronze color; however, I wasn't thrilled with its wearability, which is why I didn't repurchase it.

tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Glisten- This is the blush I have been using and I'm really happy with it so far.  It has much better wearability and it's a beautiful color.  Read more about my thoughts on this here.

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water in Fair- I've been using this for a few months now and I like it, but I don't love it.  The girl at Sephora told me that it would be super moisturizing, but I don't find it to be as moisturizing as I would like.  Also I feel like it kind of just sits on top of my skin and I don't get the benefits from a BB Cream I was looking for from it.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer- I use this when I know I'm going to have a long day or night.  I put it over my BB Cream and under my concealer to help concealer stay in place.

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder- I use this to set my under eye concealer; it helps to make it stay put and brightens the area.  This has been a favorite of mine for quite some time and you can read more about it here.

Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Concealer in 01-Light- This industrial strength concealer covers up everything from dark circles under my eyes to blemishes to any irritations.  I recommend using it with a concealer brush to blend everything for a natural look.

Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up! Highlighter- I use this to highlight areas on my face where the light hits.  I love to layer it under Urban Decay Naked Illuminated on the tops of my cheekbones for a gorgeous look.

LIPS

Lancôme Color Design Lipcolor in Trendy Mauve- This is a pretty nude that's perfect for spring and summer.

Lancôme Color Design Matte Lip Crayon in Drive to Pink- This is a beautiful electric pink that is so much fun for the warmer weather.  It has a nice matte finish and I will be wearing it all summer.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella- This is my go to red lipstick.  I'm obsessed with NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils for their rich pigments and great staying power.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien- This is my favorite pink neutral lip color and it really enhances a natural makeup look.

Clinique Long Last Glosswear in Woo Me- This lip gloss is a fun pink color; it is more pigmented then most lip glosses and has a tasteful shine to it.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry- This cult product looks much darker in the tube, but applies lighter.  It is a dark cherry and is one of my go to lipsticks for fall and winter.
COVERGIRL LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Frosted Cherry Twist- This moisturizing balm adds a nice wash of color in a warm pink shade.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lip Liner- I line my lips and then fill them in with this colorless liner before putting lipstick on.  This keeps lipstick in place and helps to prevent it from bleeding.

Not Pictured:
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu- I have momentarily misplaced this so I wasn't able to take a picture of it.  It is a dark plum color and is my absolute favorite lipstick for all year round!

What's In My: Handbag

If you follow me on Instagram (@crumbsandcurls) then you might know that Monday's J'adore June Instagram Challenge theme of the day was 'In My Bag'.  In my post I said that I would be sharing all the details on here about what exactly is in my bag, keep reading on to find out!

Kleenex Tissue Pocket Packet: It seems like my allergies are always crazy bad & the spring & summer are the worst time for them!  Due to this I always have to have tissues on me because I never stop sneezing.  I usually get these at the school convenience store with the 'points' from my meal plan & I buy like 10 at a time, I am all stocked up for summer.

Vera Bradley Travel Pill Case: You may or may not know that I have a lot of health problems, & because of that I have to take a lot of medication, this pill case is so great to keep in my bag because it has little spots to organize your pills.  If you have to take any type of medicine (even something like Benadryl) this is the perfect way to keep it in your bag.

Free People Sunglasses (last year, similar here): I was obsessed with the cat eye sunglass trend last year & am very happy that it continued right through to this year.  I picked these up at Free People before I went to Greece last year because I didn't want to bring my Chanel sunglasses with me & now I wear them all the time.

Lilly Pulitzer Coin Purse: I got this adorable little coin purse last year at the racetrack near my house when they hosted a ladies day before their biggest race of the season.  I thought it was too cute & it fits my business cards perfectly!

Bath & Body Works PocketBac Sanitizing Hand Gel: I have to be super careful about getting sick so I always have at least one of these in my bag & a few individual packets of Wet Ones.  I've tried a few different sanitizers, but these are my absolute favorite because they smell delicious & don't dry out your hands.

Nivea Skin Creme: This works great for any dry spots I might experience during the day.

Lilly Pulitzer Carded ID Smartphone Wristlet: This wallet is the best for me right now because I have to tap my ID at school to get into where I live & its design makes it so easy to do this.  It also holds all of my cards, ids, & money on the inside, which is so convenient.

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Transparent Lip Liner: I always line my lips with this before putting on lipstick, it has a waxy consistency so it really helps to prevent the lipstick from bleeding.

Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Lipstick in Black Cherry: I am still loving a really dark lip (remember my post about oxblood lips?) & read the other day that a deep berry pout is going to be huge this summer, I love how unexpected it is & you will definitely find me rocking it.

Neosporin & Band-Aid: I like to keep these for any cuts or blisters that might pop up when I'm out. The Neosporin also works really well when around my nose starts to get dry from always blowing it.

Nail File: My nails are super brittle & break a lot so I find it helpful to keep a nail file in my bag to smooth out any problems.

Conair Mini Hairbrush: I like to make little touchups throughout the day if my hair needs it & this is especially helpful if it happens to be a windy day.

Scünci No Slip Hair Tie in Blonde: I only have one of this kind of hair tie left & they're so difficult to find in stores, but I really like them because they're the only hair ties that blend in with my hair.

Kiss My Face Organic Coconut Pineapple Lip Balm: This is my go to lip balm for day time & I use it a few times throughout the day.  I've talked about my love of this balm on here before & you can read more about it here.

The Bag: Louis Vuitton Speedy 30.  This bag is a classic & holds everything you need.

What do you keep in your handbag?

What's In My: Makeup Bag

I've been seeing 'What's In My: Makeup Bag, Handbag, Backpack, etcetera' all over blogland lately & I've been dying to do my own.  Well I finally got around to taking the pictures of what is in my makeup bag, so here we go!
I keep my makeup in a tray on my desk that I use as a vanity.  I recently started doing this & it has been working so well, it's great to have everything out & not have to dig through a bag to look for things!  The only time I use a makeup bag anymore is when I travel.  I am obsessed with this tray, I made it over the summer & you can find the tutorial for it here.  It's so sparkly & girly, & is overall such a fun piece.  Now onto the makeup, I decided to break my makeup into two different categories so it was a little bit easier to share!  For everyday I do a very natural look, but I have a lot of great products to dress it up too.

Face
1. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer- I love this stuff it smoothes your skin & allows face makeup to glide on effortlessly.  On a day to day basis I use this under my eyes, but when I am going out I put it under my eyes, on my t-zone, & on my chin.
2. Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up!- This is a much buzzed about highligheter that lives up to the hype.  I like to use this on my cheekbones over blush to make them really standout.
3. NYX Green Tea Blotting Paper- I picked these up on a whim & am happy with them, I typically use the Clean & Clear ones, but I don't really prefer one over the other.  You can use these to soak up oil throughout the day without messing up your makeup.  For some reason the area under my eyes is super oily so I use them before I apply concealer there.
4. mark Just Blushing Powder in Afterglow- The color of this is comparable to NARS Orgasm, it gives you a sexy flushed look.
5. me Makeover Essentials Shimmer Powder Brush Bronze- I love this bronzer, it has great color that you can build up & it is very blendable.
6. mark Good Riddance & Conceal for Real- I only use Conceal for Real occasionally on a stubborn pimple because it has super thick coverage.  Good Riddance is my favorite I am so bummed they stopped making this, but I may have brought 4 of them before they did.  It is the perfect color & goes on so easily, you can use it anywhere on your face to coverup imperfections.
7. theBalm timeBalm Concealer in Lighter than Light- I've been using this under my eyes mixed with Good Riddance.  While I do still do that, I recently realized that my eyelids are super veiny thanks to my very fair complexion, this amazing girl at Sephora showed me that if you put some concealer on your lids when you don't wear eyeshadow (which I typically don't for day to day) it just makes them look so much better.  I was pleasantly surprised & have been doing it ever since!
8. AVON Ideal Flawless Loose Powder in Translucent- I use this to lock in the concealer under my eyes.  Recently I haven't been loving it because it seems to darken wherever I put it, so I am looking into getting something new.

Eyes
1. Makeup Palette- One of my friends gave this to me for my birthday last year.  I'm not sure of the brand, but the eyeshadows in this kit are amazing.  They are so pigmented, are very blendable, & go on so smooth.
2. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler- The mecca of eyelash curlers deserves all the buzz it gets.
3. Too Faced Liquif-Eye Shadow Collection- I got this limited edition kit a while ago, it combines some of Too Faced's most popular eye shadows with a product called Liquif-Eye Eyeliner which is a clear liquid that turns eyeshadows into eyeliner.  I use the eyeshadows included as both eyeliner and shadow, they are great colors that look super pretty.
4. LANCÔME Artliner in Noir- I only do liquid liner, it has just always been my favorite.  Lancome makes the best ones that glide on smoothly & stay put.
5. LANCÔME Artliner in Navy- This is the same as #4, but in navy!
6. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion- Another much buzzed about product, when you apply this your eyeshadow & eyeliner will not budge until you take it off.  I recommend using a natural oil to take it off though because that is definitely the most effective way to remove it.
7. COVERGIRL Professional Natural Lash Mascara in Clear Neutral- I use this to groom my brows & keep them in their place!
8. Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in I ♥ Black- I really like this mascara, it's easy to apply & stays on for a long time without flaking.
9. Mary Kay Lash Primer- Read my review here, this stuff is great.
10. Too Faced Shimmer Veils- This is a fun liquid eyeshadow, it's a gold color that has some chunky glitter in it, it's nice to wear when going out.
11. mark Winkstick in Demure- This is a stick shadow, it is a golden tan color that glides on & blends well with powder shadows.
12. Sephora Collection Colorful Eyeshadow in No 63 Under the Covers- I like to use this to highlight the brow bone & the 'V' area in the inner eye.
13. MaryKay Cream Eye Color in Violet Storm- Read my review about this here, it works well for a smokey eye look.
14. Clinique All About Shadow Duo in Strawberry Fudge- I love this shadow, it goes on great.  The colors are so pretty, it includes a pink & a brown shadows, they both have gold undertones & compliment each other well.

So that is what I have in my makeup tray.  I asked for some new makeup for Christmas to replace somethings that are getting old, so I will have to do another one of these in the new year!  Lately I have been super obsessed with Sephora & have been having fun experimenting with makeup again.  Now that you know what makeup I have, do you have any of the same things?  What's your favorite product in your makeup bag?
