Friday Favorites

When I saw this blush moto jacket in a post on McKenna Bleu this week I instantly fell in love.  I am a huge fan of leather jackets and blush is my absolute favorite color so this was a match made in fashion heaven for me.  The jacket is just gorgeous and the leather looks luxe and super soft.  Now I just need to find a dupe for it as the $995.00 price tag is a little way out of my price range.

Favorite Purchase Vince Camuto Lace Up Flats
I have been really wanting a pair of lace up flats for a few months now and was so excited when I came across these this past weekend at TJ Maxx.  They fit me perfectly and were an absolute steal, which meant I just had to get them!  I think they look so chic and I can't wait to wear them all throughout the fall. (Checkout similar pairs here and here.)

Favorite Fall Sweet Treat Pie Crust Chips & Cinnamon Dip
When I came across this recipe on Pinterest I thought it looked delicious, but then when I read the entire recipe and saw that the dip is a cream cheese cinnamon dip I knew it must be amazing!  This is such a cute little fall dessert and is sure to make any occasion very festive.  It is also ridiculously easy to make and you can even make it gluten free by using a  gluten free pie crust to make the "chips" (Pillsbury makes a good one!).

Favorite Instagram Account @parisinfourmonths
Carin Olsson moved from Sweden to Paris to follow her dreams and never left.  She is a photographer for many major fashion brands and is currently based in Paris.  She travels frequently for her work and lives an uber glamorous life.  Her Instagram account is filled with gorgeous photos of her travels, work, and life, and each picture is more beautiful then the next.  I highly recommend following her - you won't be disappointed.

I have been wanting a pair of over the knee boots for a few seasons now and swooned when I saw this pair in a post on I do deClaire.  I love the style and the color because it will go with just about everything.  They are a dupe for this much pricier pair from Stuart Weitzman and are an amazing deal at $149.95.  These are literally what I've been searching for since I've wanted OTK boots and they are the perfect price.  I'm seriously thinking about ordering these for myself in the new few days!

What are your favorites this week?

Recipe: Nut Free Pesto Pasta

This pesto recipe is my go to dish and the one everyone always requests that I make.  It is one of my favorite things to eat and is definitely comfort food for me.  I have a pretty bad nut allergy and can basically never order pesto out at restaurants because of that, even though it is one of my favorite dishes.  That is what I love about this recipe though - it does not contain any nuts, but certainly does not lack in flavor!  My favorite trick with this is to make a few batches of just the pesto (no pasta) at a time, put each batch in a small container, and freeze them, then whenever I want pesto I just defrost one of the containers, make the pasta, and have a super easy dinner!  This recipe is simple, healthy, delicious, and something that anyone (no matter the level of your cooking skills) can make.

Ingredients:
-1 large clove garlic
-1 cup basil, packed
-1/2 cup parsley, no stems
-1/2 cup parmesan cheese
-1/4 cup olive oil
-1 lb. penne pasta (can sub with gluten free pasta, my favorite is from Ronzoni)

Instructions:
-Rinse basil and parsley to clean, dry thoroughly.
-Put garlic in a food processor, pulse until finely chopped.
-Add basil, parsley, and parmesan to food processor, pulsing between each addition.
-Pulse the herb, garlic, and cheese mixture until ground.  Do not ground too much (see pictures below).
-Add olive oil and pulse until the mixture is the consistency of soft butter.
-Cook pasta to your liking, and drain.
-Pour pesto over pasta and mix well.
-Garnish with additional parmesan.
-Enjoy!

Have you ever made pesto before?

Red Carpet Style Star: Sarah Hyland

Over the past few years we've watched Sarah Hyland grow up on the red carpet.  She has gone from a cute teenager to a beautiful woman and her style has evolved accordingly.  Almost every time I see Sarah walk the carpet - no matter the occasion, she looks amazing.  She definitely has developed her own unique style and is never afraid to take a risk when it comes to fashion.  She goes between feminine chic, glamorous, and edgy looks, among others, and pulls off each with ease.  Hyland is also never shies away from changing up her hair going between long and short, straight and curly, and blonde and brunette, looking gorgeous each way.  Additionally, she uses her hair and makeup to compliment and punctuate her outfit choices.  I love Sarah Hyland's style and often look to her for fashion inspiration.  She is definitely a Red Carpet Style Star and here I have for you my favorite looks she has worn!

Which red carpet look is your favorite?

Comfy & Chic with Talaria Flats

Top: Nordstrom  |  Jeans: Mavi Jeans  |  Shoes: c/o Talaria Flats  |  Bag: DSW (similar here and here)  |  Sunglasses: Fendi (similar here)  |  Earrings: Kendra Scott

Don't you hate it when you're at an event and your shoes (especially if you're wearing heels) start to hurt your feet?  I know this has happened to me a few too many times and somehow I always land up barefoot, which, to be honest, is just gross.  Well, that is where Talaria Flats come in!  Talaria Flats makes cute foldable flats that fit right in your clutch so that you can switch out your painful shoes at any point of a night out and make yourself a lot more comfortable!  Once you switch out your shoes for a pair of Talaria Flats you can easily keep mingling, dancing, or whatever else you might be doing.

This past weekend I had two weddings, one on Friday night in Boston, and one on Saturday night just outside of Philadelphia.  When Talaria Flats contacted me offering to send me a pair of their flats to try I jumped at the chance and asked them if they could please send them in time for the weddings (which they did!).  I have to tell you that they landed up being the MVPs of my whirlwind weddings weekend and I could not have made it through without them.  I love to dance, but that makes your feet hurt (and it's even worse when you're wearing heels) so I would just take my heels off, pop these on, and be good to continue shaking my booty all night long!  They were especially helpful for Saturday's wedding because my heels for that night were super painful and gave me blisters, in addition to my feet and legs being sore from dancing so much on Friday night.

Putting on a pair of Talaria Flats, especially after dancing all night, feels like you are literally putting slippers on.  It wasn't nice just to put on a more comfortable pair of shoes, but these flats are so cozy that it feels like you're padding around your house in your most comfortable slippers.  In addition to this I got so many compliments on them!  All of my girlfriends loved them and want a pair for themselves.  The best part about them is that they can be worn everyday and don't just have to be the pair of shoes that you throw in your clutch for a night out.  They're chic and would look beautiful with a variety of different outfits from dresses, to leggings, to jeans, like I have them styled here.

I was thinking that Talaria Flats would make for a great bridal shower gift and I think they are going to be my go to present now!  If you're a bride to be they also have Event Boxes where you can get twelve or eighteen pairs at a discounted price, which would be perfect to give to all of your bridesmaids so they can change into them at your wedding.  They would also make a great birthday or holiday present too for any lady in your life who enjoys wearing heels, but whose feet sometimes needs a break!

Overall I am completely in love with my Talaria Flats.  I got them in Champagne, which is a gorgeous rose gold color that looked great with both of the dresses I wore this past weekend.  The flats come in black, silver, and white, in addition, to the champagne, which makes them very versatile.  I like mine so much that I really want to get a pair in black too!  If you have any big events to or are just looking for a good (and comfortable!) pair of flats I highly recommend checking out Talaria Flats - you will not be disappointed!

Have you tried foldable flats before?
