Shop Easy with mystylelab

Who doesn't love online shopping?  Confession: I may have had a little online shopping problem in high school (nothing serious just a few months of weekly deliveries).  Well Macy's has made online shopping even easier with their mobile app.  You can now get anything you need from Macy's ASAP by ordering it on your phone.

It's kind of dangerous for me that this app is so easy to use.  The Macy's mystylelab is filled with so many great choices, thanks to the Macy's Campus Tour (www.macyscampustour.com #macyscampustour) a campaign dedicated to keeping the hottest brands on their shelves, that I cannot stop shopping!  Thankfully for my wallet though, I've recently been sticking to making wish lists, which as you can imagine is perfect to do with the app.  No matter where I am—waiting for a meeting, hanging out between classes, or in the car, I can browse all the latest pieces that in the mystylelab.  Here are a few pieces that are currently on my Spring Wish List...

Macy's mystylelab Wish List
Left to Right:
This lightweight sweater in a bright color & unique shape is perfect for this time of year.  The weather is so awkward right now, but a piece like this will carry you through the season; it'll keep you warm when it's cold, but it's not too heavy for when it's warm!  Also its pretty color just screams spring.

I love the gorgeous color of this dress!  Its style is super feminine & the belt gives it a chic vintage vibe.  While it can be worn to a variety of different occasions this season, I'm really loving it for it Easter!

In case you couldn't tell from this post I am all about lace bottoms for spring & summer!  I am loving these lace shorts, & can think of a ton of things in my closet that they would look adorable with.

I think that this top is too cute, & a little bit cheeky.  It can be worn with a sweater when it's cooler out & over a bikini during the warmer months.  It would even look great paired with the American Rag shorts!

These are just a sneak peak of all the pretty pieces that can be found in the mystylelab.  With so many awesome options, everyone is sure to a find a few pieces that they must have!  What is on your Spring Wish List?

Happy Birthday Mom!

Dear Mom,
Happy Birthday to the most amazing women I know!  I wanted to write a long sappy letter, but I don’t want to make you cry because you should not cry on your birthday.  So here is my attempt at not making you cry, hopefully I’m successful in my mission...

one
Thank you so much for being the most incredible role model I could ever have.  You are the strongest, smartest, hardest working, & loving person I know.  If I grow up to be half the person that you are I will be ecstatic.  I hope you know how much I look up to you, & that I aspire to be like you.

two
Thank you for always being there to listen to me, even when I call you when you’re asleep at 2 AM.  You always listen, never judge, & give the best advice.  You are my confidant & sounding board, & I would probably be even crazier then I am without all you do.

three
Thank you for always being up for anything.  We’ve thrown some pretty crazy requests at you over the years, & you have done every one of them with a smile on your face.  I love that we’ve created the best memories from all of our crazy adventures.

four
Thank you for being so involved.  You have been there for literally everything for Bridget & I over the years, & that means the world to me.  You have docked countless hours, volunteering, chauffeuring, chaperoning, & the like, just to spend time with us & to make sure that we feel loved.

five
Thank you for being the most amazing Mom anyone could ask for.  I know that everyone says they have the best Mom ever, but you truly take the cake.  You are the most selfless person I know, & I know that you would do anything for me.  You are my best friend, & I love the relationship that we have & all the time we spend together.  I would not be where I am today without you, & I just want you to know how much I love & appreciate you.

I hope you have a fabulous day & I cannot wait to see you later!  I love you! Happy Birthday!

Structured for Spring

Bags for Spring

1  /  2  /  3  /  4  /  5  /  6  /  7

Today I am bringing you more springtime fashions even though it may not feel like spring where you live.  In preparation for warmer temps & cooler colors getting a new handbag is a great way to update your wardrobe.  Here I bring you structured handbags in an array of candy colored hues that are sure to brighten any outfit.  A structured bag is very lady like & classic, & will instantly pull together your look.  Any of these would be the perfect new accessory for the new season & a great way to help transition your looks from winter to spring.

I would love to add any of these gorgeous bags to my wardrobe!  Which one is your favorite?

Beauty Review: Mario Badescu Enzyme Revitalizing Mask

Recently I've been really interested in the Mario Badescu product line, I've been seeing his stuff everywhere & have heard nothing but amazing things about it.  When my Mom picked up the Mario Badescu Enzyme Revitalizing Mask I was really excited to try it.

The company's description of the mask:
"This product is a moisture intensive Alpha Hydroxy mask ideal for dull, dry, or mature skin. Papaya and Grapefruit Extracts are the natural exfoliants blended with antioxidant Vitamin A and E oils giving the skin a refreshed, glowing appearance."

When I use this I make sure to remove all of my makeup, & then wash my face.  Next I apply the mask & leave it on for 20 minutes, I like to read a magazine or catch up on blogs while I am waiting.  After the 20 minutes are up I rinse my face, use toner, & apply face lotion (if my skin is especially dry I use coconut oil!).  Since it's my Mom's I don't bring it to school with me so if I'm home I'll use it twice a week, otherwise I will just steal it when I'm home.  The best part is is that the benefits last for a long time!

I can honestly say that I love this mask.  For the past few months this has been my secret weapon for glowing skin.  I have combination skin that gets dry in the winter, & I get lots of blackheads in my t-zone & chin area.  This mask has seriously helped to repair the damage done by the harsh winter elements.  It has also helped to shrink my pores & clear up  those pesky blackheads & any blemishes that pop up.  Every time I use it my skin feels smooth & refreshed when I take it off.  It does a great job of clearing out your skin, while keeping it moisturized all at the same time.

I am a bit of a face mask junkie & this is definitely one of the best, if not the best, masks I have ever tried.  I definitely recommend picking this on your next trip to a store that carries Mario Badescu (I know that you can get it on their online store & Ulta, but my Mom picked hers up at a boutique near our house).  The results that I have seen with this product has made me really want to try out more of Mario Badescu products, they have such an expansive line, but I think I am interested in trying one of their face cleansers next!

Have you ever tried any Mario Badescu products?  If you have, which ones did you try & what did you think?

Find of the Week with Macy's mystylelab

Lately I've really been wanting a lace skirt so naturally I turned to Macy's mystylelab because they have all the latest styles & best brands (their Macy's Campus Tour, www.macyscampustour.com #macyscampustour, is a campaign dedicated to keeping the hottest brands on their shelves) to find one.  While shopping around online I came across this adorable American Rag Tiered Lace Skirt that I need to pick up!  It is such a feminine piece with a vintage feel, & I really love the scalloped hem.

This skirt is just perfect for Spring/Summer, & can be worn with so many different pieces.  You can wear to something casual, like shopping with your girlfriends, or dress it up for something a bit more formal, like a date or party, it is all about what you choose to pair it with!  Below is how I would style it.

Cardigan: Maison Jules  /  Earrings: Kate Spade  /  Top: Jessica Simpson  /  Skirt: American Rag  /  Shoes: Jessica Simpson  /  Bracelet: Kate Spade  /  Bag: Furla

This is a look that I would wear to a family party, brunch with girlfriends, dinner out, or to one of my sorority's ceremonies.  I love the look of the blousy tank paired with the lace skirt.  For Spring I am all about light colors & pastels, here I took a neutral look & brightened it up with the pretty mint Maison Jules Cardigan & Kate Spade earrings.  The top, cardigan, & skirt can all be found in the mystylelab & the rest can be found in various other departments throughout Macy's.  Now I just need it to warm up (seriously I cannot wait) so I can wear this.  The fact that there is snow in the forecast makes me want to cry, it's almost April people!

My parting note for today is before you shop with Macy's don't forget about their Spin & Win Sweepstakes that is taking place through Saturday (March 30th).  If you're a student log into the Macy’s App on your phone to spin a virtual spin wheel for a chance to win up to $500 in gift cards.  The best part is is that everyone is a winner because just for playing you will automatically receive a 20% coupon!  Simply download he Macy's App & click on the link for the Spin & Win Instant Game.  [Bonus: You can play up to five times a day!]

What pieces are you looking to pick up to update your wardrobe for Spring?

My Mom Goes Alpha Gam

So on Friday I told you that my sorority had initiation on Saturday.  While we had an amazing initiation in the fall this semester's was very special for a few reasons.
The first reason this initiation was so special was because the girls we were initiating were the girls who joined through our chapter's first ever formal recruitment.  Formal recruitment was such a huge thing for us & brought all of us so much closer together.  I cannot even describe how excited we were for this pledge class, Bid Day literally felt like Christmas morning times 10.  We were also so proud of ourselves, & felt so accomplished, all of which makes this pledge class so important to us.  It was amazing to finally officially welcome these wonderful girls into the most amazing sisterhood, & to now be able to call them my sisters.  No matter how many times I see our initiation ceremony it's is always memorable, I love seeing the new girls learn & experience the significant traditions that were created over 100 years ago.  I'm one of those girls who really enjoys the ritual aspect of all of this & find the initiation ceremony to be magical yes I'm corny.
The second reason that this initiation was so special was because of the amazing something that I haven't shared with all of you yet!  My Mom joined Alpha Gamma Delta!  Because we are a new chapter we have a relatively small alumnae group, we graduated 8 girls last Spring & will graduated 12 more in 6 short weeks.  To expand our alumnae, our headquarters decided to do a Mother Initiate program.
My Mom is my best friend, & I know a lot of girls say this, but I mean it 100%.  We are so close & I know that I can go to her for anything; when we first began discussing the Mother Initiate program in chapter I knew that she had to do it.  I knew that this would be an amazing bonding experience & only bring us closer together, which it totally did.  In total we had 4 mother initiates & I think that everyone loved watching them getting initiated even more then our new members!  Since I find our initiation ceremony so special, it was incredible that I got to share it with my Mom.
My Mom came up on Friday night because we had to be at the hotel for initiation at 8:30 on Saturday morning.  One of my really good friend's Mom was being initiated too so she suggested that the four of us grab dinner that was so much fun!  We went to this delicious little Italian restaurant & had an absolute blast.  The next morning we headed over to the hotel in our cream colored initiation dresses, ready for the day ahead of us.  After the Spring initiation ceremonies Alpha Gamma Delta chapters have a banquet called Feast of Roses to celebrate the initiation, & the new girls are allowed to invite their parents to celebrate with us.  I loved having my Mom there (since she was a new member!) to hang out with & to get to introduce her to all of my friends in the sorority.  The banquet is a lunch, which was very tasty & a lot of fun!
Finally to end the weekend we went to a local Farmer's Market to pick up supplies for dinner, & my Mom made very tasty scallops, pasta, & green beans!  Overall, her & I had the best weekend & I am so glad that she is now a member of Alpha Gamma Delta.  I feel so blessed to have the most amazing Mom who was willing to join this journey with me, & who had just as much fun as I did!

How was your weekend?  Did you do anything fun?
