Friday Favorites

Favorite Style Star Nina Dobrev
Nina really hit it out of the park this week with her fashion choices.  To the left she wears Calvin Klein Collection at Elle's Women in Hollywood Awards and to the right she wears Badgley Mischka at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.  The looks are so different from each other and she looks stunning in both! If I had to pick though I would say the nude dress is my absolute favorite because it is very ballerina-chic, which I love.

Favorite New Show Quantico
Have you seen Quantico on ABC on Sunday nights?  If not you're totally missing out because it is a great show.  Since it's so early in the season you still have plenty of time to get caught up (maybe over the weekend?) and I definitely recommend watching.

Favorite Gown Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture
This gown is stunning and everything I love.  It's a gorgeous nude color and has the most beautiful feather and beaded detailing.  If I needed a gown (and had an unlimited budget) this would be my pick!

Favorite Shoes Jimmy Choo Heels
These beauties are a girly-girl's dream and have me swooning.  They would be perfect for the holidays or really any occasion you have to dress up for.  I would definitely recommend wearing them with a short dress so everyone can admire your beautiful footwear.

Favorite Flashback *NSYNC Original I Want You Back Music Video
I am a major 90s music lover and a HUGE NSYNC fan.  Last night I decided to watch some old music videos and came across this gem.  Apparently I Want You Back was first released in Europe in the late 90s and this was the originally video for the single.  This is really just fantastic and all I can say is you're welcome.

Shopping Haul: Sephora

Recently I needed a replacement brush for my Clarisonic Mia 3 and a new BB Cream so I headed to Sephora's website to do a little shopping.  Of course once I got to the website I found a few other items that I just had to get, does this ever happen to anyone else?  Below are the products that I picked up during my  mini Sephora shopping spree.

When Sephora came out with these sheet masks a couple months ago I picked up the Pearl and Honey Masks and loved both of them.  This time I went with the Pomegranate one because it "awakens, energizes, and protects the skin with antioxidant-rich natural pomegranate extract."  My skin has been seeming a little dull lately so I thought that this would help to perk it up.  I can't wait to use it and my tip for these masks is to put them on while you're taking a bath, then sit back to relax and enjoy!

I've been dying to try a sleeping mask and couldn't resist them at only $4.00 each!  I am obsessed with using honey for beauty so I couldn't resist purchasing this.  This mask is meant to nourish and balance your skin while you leave it on all night,.  I'm looking forward to using this in the winter when my skin is dry and in need of some serious nourishment.

Since I loved the Sephora Sheet Masks so much I knew that I had to give their sheet eye masks a try.  I have dark circles under my eye and the Pearl Mask is meant to help brighten the skin so that eyes appear lighter, so it was an easy choice for me.  I'm excited to see how these work and will definitely be doing a review on them!

Like I said before for only $4.00 each I couldn't resist these little pods filled with an overnight mask.  I also picked up the Lotus mask because it locks in water and minimizes the look of fatigued skin, both of which I think will benefit my skin in the fall and winter months.

For my BB Cream I originally purchased Sephora Collection Skin Perfect CC Cream in Fair because it was a great price and had gotten really good reviews, however when I used it it turned my skin completely orange so it had to go back.  I took it back in store and had one of the ladies that works at Sephora help me find something different, she recommended a few different BB Creams, but I fell in love with this one.  It is actually a 'BB Water' not a cream, that is super silky and moisturizing, and you only need one drop for your entire face.  They also had a great selection of colors and the fair matched my super fair skin perfectly.  I haven't actually had the chance to use it on my whole face yet, but this will definitely be getting a full review when I do!

I love the Deep Pore Brush Head for my Clarisonic, it exfoliates my skin very nicely and cleans out all of my pores.  I was happy to see that Sephora had the two pack because individually the brushes are $27.00 each, but in this pack they come to $22.00 each so I saved $10.00!  If you have a Clarisonic and haven't tried the Deep Pore Brush, I recommend doing so.

I love a super dark matte lip for fall and winter, which is exactly what this creates.  I got this specific lipstick because Jordyn wears it all the time and I'm always complimenting her on it so I figured I needed to get one for myself.  I've only worn it once so far, but I got so many compliments on it and am in love with it!

Sparkle & Shine

I have an affinity for pretty earrings that add a little something extra to your look.  Lately I haven't been wearing a lot of jewelry except earrings, so I really need a statement earring to make my look pop, especially when I'm going out somewhere.  For the past few weeks I have been wearing and loving two pairs of earrings from Happiness Boutique.  Happiness Boutique is an online boutique based in Germany that offers trendy clothing, jewelry, and accessories at affordable prices.

Happiness Boutique has a great selection of statement jewelry, from glitzy earrings to look making necklaces - they have so many beautiful pieces.  The people at Happiness Boutique were so nice to send me the Simplicity Pearl Earrings and Vintage Inspired Chandelier Earrings, and I have to tell you that I love both pairs!  They are chic, well made, and very versatile.  I wore the Vintage Inspired Chandelier Earrings in August to InStyle's Summer Social in New York City and they made my outfit, you can see pictures from the night here and here.  Below I have for you a few pictures of the earrings and outfits that they would look great with!

Romper  |  Vintage Inspired Chandelier Earrings (c/o Happiness Boutique)  |  Heels

I am obsessed with these vintage looking earrings and can't wait to wear them again soon!  I have my sorority cocktail coming up and I'm thinking I will be putting together a look like the one above to wear with the earrings.  I also believe that you don't have to be getting dressed up to wear statement earrings like these, they look just as god with jeans and a t-shirt and add a little sparkle to a basic or casual look.

Sweater  |  Jeans  |  Simplicity Pearl Earrings (c/o Happiness Boutique)  |  Booties

This pair is a unique take on classic pearl earrings and have been a very popular style for quite some time.  You can also wear these dressed up or more casual, but recently I have been wearing them with more casual looks like the one above.  They're very easy to throw on with jeans and a sweater, and add a bit of polish to your look.  They would also look perfect with a little black dress!

You definitely have to go check out Happiness Boutique to see all they have to offer.  If you're looking for something fun I'm loving this necklace and this bracelet - they're both so pretty!

D.I.Y. Fall Burlap Wreath

For a while now I've been a big fan of burlap, it has a shabby chic vibe and is always great for decorating.  I've been seeing burlap wreaths on Pinterest for a while now and decided I needed to make my own!  After reading over a few different tutorials I had an idea of what I wanted to do with mine and then put my own spin on it.  For my wreath I mixed a patterned burlap ribbon (it has leaves on it, which is perfect for fall!) with a solid burlap ribbon and I'm really happy with the way it came out, I actually like it much better than the solid ribbon alone.  It took me less than an hour to complete the wreath and I'm so happy with how it came out.  I gave the one I made to my Mom because I don't have anywhere to put it at school and she will have it up through Thanksgiving since it is so festive for this time of year!  Read below to learn how you can make your own fall burlap wreath.

Supplies:
-2 1/2 inch burlap ribbon, 54 feet total in length (I used 2 rolls of patterned burlap ribbon, which equaled 24 feet and 1 roll of solid burlap ribbon, which was 30 feet)

Instructions:
-Tie the end of the burlap ribbon to the wire wreath frame, if you are using pattern and solid burlap tie both ribbons to the frame.
-Feed the ribbon through the wire framing, you basically want to "weave" in it and out of the little slots leaving big fluffy loops (see pictures), continue around the whole wreath frame.
-If you are using pattern and solid burlap ribbons, alternate between the two, mixing the loops in with each other.
-While creating the loops continue to scrunch them together and keep fluffing them out.  For the best look try to have the loops going in different directions.
-If you finish one of your rolls of ribbon, but need more of that ribbon, tuck the end among the loops and then tie the new ribbon onto the frame.
-When you have made big fluffy loops all around the wreath, tuck the end of the ribbon(s) among the ribbon loops.
-Enjoy!

Have you made a wreath before?

Friday Favorites

Favorite Trend Ponchos
I never thought I would say this, but I'm loving ponchos.  They're all over right now and are perfect for fall.  I think they look so chic when paired with skinny jeans or leggings and booties.  I just picked this one up from Nordstrom and can't wait to do an outfit post with it, I also love this one and this one.

Favorite Blogger Baby Atticus Clark
Atticus is Barefoot Blonde Creator Amber Fillerup Clark's baby.  There are tons of pictures of Atticus on Amber's blog, Instagram and Snapchat, and I always look forward to seeing them!  He is too cute and I really love seeing him interact with their dog (pictured below) because they are an adorable duo.  He's quite the little fashion star and is always going on adventures with Amber and her husband.  Amber is having a little girl soon who I'm sure is going to be equally as cute and I can't wait to see the two babies together!

Favorite Fun Facts 13 Crazy But True Facts About Sephora from Byrdie
I love learning random facts, especially about my favorite topics, so I was super excited when I came across this article while browsing through Byrdie the other night.  I knew some of the facts listed, but also learned some new things about the company, which was cool.  If you're a beauty lover or even just like reading facts you have to check this out.

Favorite Blogger Family The Garvins of Little Baby Garvin
I've loved reading about Jessica Garvin and her adorable family since I started reading her blog shortly after I started blogging.  Since then her family has expanded from three to six with the births of her second and third daughters, Eloise and Claire, who joined their too cute big sister Harper.  Jessica is seriously #momgoals with her Pinterest worthy home decor, wardrobe, baby wardrobes and more, but she still keeps it so real, which I think is important.  Her Instagram is filled with pictures from her life that will make you love her and her family too.  Below is a picture of her two oldest daughters, Harper and Eloise.

Favorite Celeb Photoshoot Taylor Swift for GQ
On her Instagram Taylor Swift has been posting pictures from her photo spread  for the November coverstory of GQ.  This is one of Taylor's sexier photoshoots and I love that she still keeps it classy.  I feel like these pictures are exactly what I would think Taylor would do for a sexy shoot and I think it's great that she stayed true to herself, not to mention she also looks incredibly gorgeous in every picture!
