Summer Style: Rompers

For me, rompers are a must have for spring and summer.  They are easy, chic, and comfortable, what more could you ask for?  While I have quite a few rompers in my closet, I'm always looking for new ones to add to my collection.  I love looking on Pinterest and seeing how other people style their rompers, below are a few of my recent favorites.

Taking inspiration from the pictures above I've picked out a few rompers that I'm really loving.

Long sleeve rompers are perfect for cooler spring and summer days, I also like wearing them when I know I'm going to be outside because the sleeves give a little extra sun protection.  Short sleeve, sleeveless, and strapless rompers are great for when the temperatures start to really rise, I love to wear them when it's sweltering because the one piece is so simple and fuss free.  At this point I feel like rompers are essentially interchangeable with dresses, they have the ability to be dressed up or down and are such a versatile piece.  All of these great qualities make rompers a wardrobe staple for me and a classic summer style.  For me an 'LBR' or 'Little Black Romper' is definitely a summer style staple because it can be worn so many different ways, if you don't have one in your closet I recommend getting one for this summer.  After you get an LBR, go crazy with fun prints and textures and have fun with your different rompers!

Do you love rompers for summer?

April's Beauty Empties

I always stock up on this when Bath & Body Works comes out with it for the holidays (I just learned though that they do sell it on Amazon all year round!).  I have an issue with scents and can really only tolerate lotions that have a vanilla scent to them.  This lotion literally smells like sugar cookies - so delicious!  Whenever I wear it I always get compliments and it helps to make my skin silky smooth.

Will I repurchase? Yes. I've already opened the bottle I got in my stocking for Christmas!  I also have this scent in an Ultra Shea Body Cream, when I need a little extra moisture.  Next year at the holidays I will definitely stock up again!

I love pretty much everything I have gotten from Mario Badescu and this is no exception.  Read my review of this mask here for all the details!

Will I repurchase? Maybe.  While I was very happy with the results I am interested in trying a few other masks before repurchasing this; at some point though this will probably make it into my beauty routine again.

For the longest time I've used CoverGirl Lash Exact Mascara because out of all the mascaras I've tried (from high end to drugstore brands) it has always been my favorite and never irritated my eyes. However, recently it has been pretty hard to find so when it wasn't at the store I ended up getting this instead and was pleasantly surprised.  When I finished up this tube, I was able to find my old favorite, but was disappointed in it after using this!  I love the larger brush that this tube has because it makes it easier to coat all of my lashes, and the formula doesn't flake or irritate my eyes.  From a girl who is very picky about her mascara, I definitely recommend this!

Will I repurchase? Yes.  As soon as I am done with the CoverGirl Lash Exact Mascara I have I will be buying this.

I talked about this cleanser in my The Best Face Cleansers post.  Like I said in that post this is my absolute favorite cleanser that I have ever used, and that says a lot because I have tried about a million different ones.  It uses natural Alpha Hydroxy Acids to exfoliate and clear out pores, and does a great job of keeping blackheads and blemishes away without drying out skin.

Will I repurchase? Yes.  I already have.

I alternate between purchasing this moisturizer and Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizing.  I favor the Smart Essentials one (read my review here), but this one is usually easier to find.  I like that this one uses a Total Soy Complex to lighten dark spots (I think I don't have any spots because I've been using this on and off for years) and it also has natural light diffusers, which make your skin glow.  This comes in both SPF 15 and SPF 30, but I recommend the SPF 30 because I am all about sunscreen.  (I also recommend that if you're looking for a new daytime face cream you look at both of the lotions and see which works better for your skin type; my skin is combination, but tends to be on the dry side and both have worked well for me.)

Will I repurchase? Yes.  I am on the last few drops of this at the moment, and when I go to pick up a new bottle I will look for the Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizing, but if I can't find it I will buy this.

I received a deluxe size sample of this when I purchased my Clarisonic and it is seriously the most luxe face cream I have ever used.  It literally goes on like butter and makes my skin feel like velvet.  When it was colder out my skin was really dry, but this helped to get it back to a better place.  The cream is super rich and because of this it lasts for a really long time.

Will I repurchase? I wish!  Unfortunately this cream is way out of my college student budget, but if it was I would definitely be repurchasing it.  If it is in your budget you have to try it!

Prints Just Want to Have Fun!

I have a doctor's appointment every week in Philadelphia on 2nd Street that I've been going to for 6 years now, and during my first couple of visits I noticed a little pink storefront on Market Street that I needed to see.  One day after a visit my Mom and I walked down to check out the shop and we instantly fell in love.  Smak Parlour was filled with the cutest clothes and owned by the sweetest girls, Abby and Katie.  Over the years I've become friends with Abby and Katie and watched the store continue to grow and prosper.  Smak Parlour is my absolute favorite store in Philly and a must visit for anyone who lives in or is visiting the city!

To celebrate their 10th Anniversary Abby and Katie have designed the Cut and Sew Collection.  This is a 6 piece collection rendered in boldly graphic high-performance athletic fabric.  The fabric they've created for this collection is a new generation of performance spandex that is strong, flexible and forgiving.  It's also machine washable and dryable, wrinkle-free, shrink-proof, fade-proof, odor-resistant, cross-seasonal, stretches for comfort, and smoothes and hides bumps!  What more could you want?!  The collection includes tops, dresses, and a skirt all made in this fabulous fabric.  These 6 pieces have been designed with the help of three collaborating artists and will be manufactured in the Philadelphia area.  To give you a little more information on their project I have a video here from Abby and Katie (which I seriously love!).

To fund the final production of their designs the girls have created a KickStarter where they are hoping to raise $15,000.  Backers of the Cut and Sew Collection can choose to pre-order pieces from the collection or from other rewards including a numbered, signed print from one of the collaborating artists.  Below I have the pieces that can be "purchased" to help back the project, more information on this can be found here!

While I love all the pieces my absolute favorites are the Fan Dancer Dress and Chevron Skater Skirt (could they be any cuter?!).  I am so happy for Abby and Katie that they've created this collection, I could not think of two more hard working girls that deserve this more!  Their KickStarter ends this Saturday, May 2nd and they are over 75% of the way to their goal!  I am really hoping that everyone can help them out and head over to their page to back their project and brighten up your wardrobe!

Which pieces from the Cut and Sew Collection are your favorite?

Go Nude for Spring

So it's no secret that I am kind of obsessed with nude and blush tones.  I just love how they go with just about anything and always look super chic.  While nude shoes - heels or flats, are my favorite, there are so many other stylish nude items for spring.  A nude bag or clutch is a great way to compliment your nude shoes, I feel like nude is the black of springtime.  For a new take on nude accessories I really love nude rimmed sunglasses, they are unexpected and will freshen up your look.  A watch with a nude band is a good way to try to out the trend without too much commitment.  Finally if you're ready to really take on the trend try a nude romper, dress, or top like pictured above.  The best part about incorporating nude into your look is that you can play with fun colors (like pastels!) in other aspects of your outfit for a balanced look!  Below I have all the pieces from my collage in addition to a few other pieces that I am absolutely loving for spring.  Now if they can just all find their way into my closet we're good to go!

Look for Less - Britt Robertson

Dress: AQUA  |  Jacket: ASOS  |  Booties: Sam Edelman

Britt Robertson is on a press tour for her newest movie The Longest Ride, which I am dying to see! She wore this look to a photocall for the movie at the top of the Empire State Building in New York City.  I love this look because it is perfect for this time of year when the weather is transitioning and can be kind of all over the place in terms of temperature.  The floral dress is super springy, but the leather jacket is perfect for if it is a little colder out.  Additionally, the dress is very feminine and the leather accents add an edge to the look, which keeps it chic and prevents it from being too sweet.  This look is quite versatile and can be worn anywhere from brunch to dinner to a family party.  Below the picture I have the pieces that I put together in the collage as they are my favorite picks, but below that I have a few more options for each piece at a variety of different prices that will fit everyone's style.  I look forward to seeing what Robertson wears throughout the tour and hoping she takes a lot of pictures with her hunky co-star Scott Eastwood!

What do you think of Britt's look?  Have you seen The Longest Ride?
