Clear Up Chest Acne

A few months ago I started to get really bad breakouts on my chest.  I had always had to be careful with the skin on my chest because it was very temperamental, sensitive, and oily, but I began to experience steady acne like never before.  I felt gross and wanted to constantly wear shirts that had higher necklines (thankfully it was during winter so this was possible).  I really wanted to clear it up and went to work looking up remedies for chest acne.  After some web research, experimentation, and knowledge from prior experiences I came up with a combination of products that cleared up my chest breakouts quickly and has kept them at bay since.

This Clearasil wash is very strong and literally stops oil in it's tracks.

I had remembered having good success with Dickinson's Witch Hazel when I was younger and having some oil issues.

I read online (and of course I cannot remember where) that Aloe Vera was really good at healing acne; I had also noticed that with previous treatments I was drying out my skin and knew this would help to moisturize it.

RoutineThe trick to this routine is to treat your skin while not drying it out. You need to cleanse (with either wash or toner) twice a day (once in the morning and once at night) and then moisturize. When you shower wash your chest with the Clearasil and moisturize with the aloe when you get out. When you do not shower (so if you shower in the morning you'll do this at night, if you shower at night you'll do this in the morning, and if you skip a shower you do this once in the morning and once at night) you put witch hazel on a cotton ball and use it to wipe off your chest. Allow the witch hazel to dry and apply the aloe. If you're having a particularly bad breakout do a spot mask (apply the mask only to the pimples on your chest), I recommend Proactiv Refining Mask, and when you remove the mask put coconut oil on the pimples. If you do not want to do the mask you can just do the coconut oil to heal the pimples.

This combination has done wonders for the skin on my chest.  I saw results with this routine in a few days and it has really helped to keep my skin clear.  Let me know if you have any questions!

Le Pliage Plunge

So I've finally decided to take the plunge and get the cult worthy Longchamp Le Pliage Large Tote.  I've been searching for a while for a decent size tote bag that zips to bring with me to Greece, and in my search I realized that the Le Pliage bag was the bag I've been looking for.  It's super light weight, can fold up, and has the zip top plus snap closure for added security.  I know I'm going to be walking around a lot so I need something that isn't heavy and that can carry a bunch.  I've also heard a lot of stories of people being pick pocketed, and I would like to avoid that so I like that this has two ways to close it.  Now the only thing I need to decide is what color I want.

I plan to use this bag as my purse carry on, and all through Greece, but I would like to be able to use this bag when I come back as well.  These bags seem pretty sturdy so I'm thinking that this is something that I am going to have for a while.  I really love Longchamp's summer colors, they're so pretty and bright, but I'm not sure if they're the best choice.  While the Pink, Lagoon, and Azure, are great for this time of year, I don't feel like they're realistic for all year-round.  I think that the New Navy and Slate are both more practical to wear throughout the year, and they are great colors that will go with just about everything.  However even if I've narrowed it down to New Navy and Slate, I still need to pick between the two!

I would love to know what all of your thoughts on the colors are!  Do I do Summer colors or something more practical?  Do I do New Navy or Slate?  Also do you have a Le Pliage tote and if you do, do you love it?  Tell me everything below!

2014 Met Gala

Better late than never right?  I waited with baited breath on Monday to see all the gorgeous gowns at the 2014 Met Gala and I was not disappointed not at all.  However, Tuesday I was in major study mode for finals, which lasted until yesterday so I wasn't able to really think about all the beautifulness until after I finished my last final.  After some moving and relaxation (and extreme happiness about being done) I put together my lists about the Met Gala.  Today I'm bringing you my 12 Best Dressed (I couldn't narrow it to just 10), the Runners Up, and the dresses that I am just unsure about.

1. Blake Lively in Gucci
Blake is absolute perfection.  This whole look is completely amazing.
2. Emma Stone in Thakoon
I love how Emma took a risk and went with the crop top trend, I think it really paid off and that she looked great.

3. Gisele Bündchen in Balenciaga
This dress is beautiful on Gisele, and I love how the green earrings paired with it.
4. Rachel McAdams in Ralph Lauren
This gown is simplicity at its best, and the color looks fabulous on Rachel.

5. Reese Witherspoon in Stella McCartney
The color of this gown is gorgeous!  I feel like we haven't seen much of Reese very dressed up lately and this dress was a stunner.
6. Amber Heard in Giambattista Valli
Long sleeve gowns and neutral colors are two of my favorites right now, and Amber combines the two for a lovely look.

7. Suki Waterhouse in Burberry
I feel like this dress is such a fun pick, and I really love the big skirt!
8. Jessica Alba in Diane von Furstenberg
Jessica Alba could not get more gorgeous and looks so good in this gown.

9. Selena Gomez in Diane von Furstenberg
I love how this whole look comes together, the simplicity of the dress and the bigger jewels looks wonderful.
10. Leighton Meester in Emilio Pucci
I am completely obsessed with this look, I feel like Leighton took a risk by going a bit bohemian and it was amazing.

10. Anne Hathaway in Calvin Klein
Red is Ann's color and this is another example of how a sliver of stomach can be done in a tasteful way.
11. Victoria Beckham in Victoria Beckham
She looks so pretty here in her own creation, and I especially like her beautiful gems.

1. Kendall Jenner in Topshop
I love this look on Kendall, but there's just something about it that didn't make it Best Dressed material for me.  I really like the shape of this dress, but I think it's the material  of it that I'm not a fan of.
2. Arizona Muse in Zac Posen
I hate her hair here!  If her hair was done differently this would have been one of my top looks because the dress is stunning.
3. Lily Aldridge in Michael Kors
Lily looked gorgeous here, but I think I would have liked this better if her hair was down.  The Met Gala is definitely about the whole look for me.

1. Hayden Panettiere in Dennis Basso
I like the silhouette of this gown and I like the print, but not together.  I'm also not a fan of this print for this event.
2. Kate Bosworth in Stella McCartney
I can't put my finger on it, but there's just something that makes me iffy about this look.
3. Karlie Kloss in Oscar de la Renta
I think that Karlie looks so glam in this look, but I think the very bold print on the gown is what's throwing me off.

What are your thoughts on the dresses of the night?!

Got My New Shoes on Today

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Reebok (#Skyscape). I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. (#Sponsored)

With the end of the school year here I am all about being comfy.  Between finals, packing, running errands, getting ready for Greece, and everything else I've got going on the last thing I need is to be uncomfortable in what I'm wearing, especially on my feet.  Don't get me wrong, I love fashion and still want to look cute, I just want my clothes to be easy and if I forget that I have on shoes that won't hurt either.  That's where the new Reebok Skyscape shoes come in.

Weighing in at just 5 ounces and made for optimum comfort these shoes are absolutely perfect.  I've been wearing them literally everywhere lately and it feels like I'm walking on clouds.  I love that when I've been taking an exam for multiple hours that I don't even feel like I have anything on my feet.  I can honestly say that I look forward to putting these on when I get dressed in the morning because they feel that good!

In addition to being ridiculously comfortable they are also super cute.  I get compliments on them every time I wear them!  One of my favorite style icons, the gorgeous Miranda Kerr is the spokesperson for Reebok Skyscape and has been seen all over in them, styling them in a variety of different ways.  I love how she wears them and have been taking cues from these pictures.  Make sure to check out her cheeky ad for the shoes here.

I got my adorable pair at Kohl's (c/o), where you can choose from a variety of different colors.  As you can see I got the hot pink (since I'm a pink addict it was a no brainer), but you can also get them from Kohl's in black, grey, or blue.  One of my favorite features is that you can machine wash these babies to keep them true to the pretty color you pick.

So if you're looking for an everyday pair of shoes that you can wear running errands, en route to the gym, shopping, and everywhere in between that are ridiculously comfortable (and seriously who isn't looking for that?!) look no further.  Don't walk, run out to get yourself a pair of Reebok Skyscape shoes!  Your feet will be the happiest they've been in a very long time.

How Do You Handle Stress?

Today's post is brought to you courtesy of finals week, which also explains why it's nice and short.

I'm curious to know how other people handle stress.  Lately, I'm really bad at handling it, and get stressed super easy.  Due to the lovely time of year (aka end of the semester) I am a basket of nerves.  There's so much going on with finals, saying goodbye, and trying to pack up that I find myself on overload and freaking out.  I know this will all be over soon (tomorrow to be exact), but I feel like that's not helping me today.  The past few months I've been working on looking at one thing at a time, instead of the whole picture, and that had been helping with stress, until this week.  I just feel like I have so many things to remember and my head is a giant jumble.

The other day I was talking with my sister about what to post and she suggested that I do a post on stress busters since it's finals season.  However, when I thought about it I realized I can't give advice to others on something that I haven't figured out myself.  So today I'm looking to see how everyone else handles their stress.  I would love any and all input on stress busters that you use so that hopefully I can steal a few of them from you!  Please leave lots of comments letting me know or if you don't want to share it publicly feel free to email me at kristin.thomp@gmail.com.  I can use all the tips I can get!

Coco is the star of today's obligatory picture because she's adorable, and dogs make everything better.

Keep Calm & Go Greek with Adam Block Design

I think that almost every sorority girl out there knows about Adam Block Design.  For anyone who doesn't know, Adam Block Design is a company that makes custom Greek apparel.  My sorority has done several orders with them and I have loved every piece that I have ordered!  They are great at making fashion forward, high quality, and cozy apparel that allows you to show off your Greek pride.

A few weeks ago the people over at Adam Block Design were so sweet and sent me over two adorable tops.  I absolutely love both of the shirts and so have my sorority sisters that I have showed them to.  I cannot wait to wear the mint one around campus during fall semester of next year.  At Villanova freshmen cannot rush until second semester so during the fall we try to promote Greek Life in general, and this shirt will be perfect to do just that!  On top of being super cute it is also crazy soft, which I love.

The Alpha Gam shirt they sent me will be great for days that we wear letters. This shirt is an example of the custom apparel that Adam Block Design can put together for your sorority. They literally have hundreds of cute designs on their website and sororities can also put together their own design for bags, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and many more items! As I mentioned my sorority has worked with them before and I have always loved their apparel.
