Confessional

| One |
I confess that I did some shopping this week for a sponsored post that I have coming up, & that I am beyond excited to share everything about it with all of you.  It's something really awesome that I love & know you will too!  I hate having to wait to share stuff like this!

Two
I confess that I think I want to do some blog design tweaks.  I have been thinking about changing it up for a while but cannot decide what I want to do/where I want to start.  All I do know is that keeping my sketch is a must.

Three
I confess that I really wouldn't mind running away right now.  I just have some things going on that are giving me anxieties & I would really rather not deal with them so heading to a tropical island sounds like a much better plan.

Four
I confess that I have been eating really poorly lately, I have been a junk food queen & it is making me feel gross.  I also have no motivation to stop, but need to get some ASAP.

Five
I confess that I am so sad that Gracie Gold did not place at the Olympics, she is super talented & literally looks like 'Figure Skating Barbie'.  My heart broke when she fell, but I'm hoping she'll be able to place in 2018.  Also I'm a really terrible person who was secretly happy when Julia Lipnitskaia fell because the Olympics have really brought out my competitive streak & American pride.

Have a good weekend!

Kim Is a Kartoon

I used to love Kim Kardashian, I really did.  I would defend her when people would say that she was famous for nothing, & all of that, but lately I have just been really disappointed in her.  I don't like to talk bad of people, especially on here, & I by no means want everyone to think I am bashing her, but this is just something I've been thinking about lately that I want to get off my chest.

I feel like lately Kim Kardashian has become a cartoon.  I know that that is a weird way to say it, but I feel like that is the only way to describe it.  I feel as though she obviously always lived a very lavish lifestyle, & was out of touch with the 'real world', but she has just grown so over the top & out of control lately that she seems like an imaginary character to me.  I mean everything she does from the way she dresses to the way she acts is so exaggerated & ridiculously extravagant.

I'm not sure if any of you watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians (I still happen to be a fan regardless of Kim), but even her family is fed up with her attitude.  They are constantly throwing around comments about things being up to Kim's standards, & on a recent episode the majority of the scenes were focused on Kim's ridiculous behavior.  It got to the point that her sister's nicknamed her 'Fancy Nancy' because she has such an uppity attitude about everything.  I mean at one point she told Kourtney she wouldn't be able to sell her home because of her wallpaper choices!  That is so rude!

I feel like all she does anymore is post Instagram pictures of herself & all the things she has.  She is so self centered that it is really out of control, & I cannot help but think that Kanye has had something to do with it.  I remember watching an episode before she gave birth & her saying something along the lines of "Kanye & I each love ourselves so much that we're not sure how we're going to love another person like that."  Oh my gosh who actually says something like that?!  I mean these two are going to raise little North West to be an elitist to end all elitists since they are pretty close to being like that themselves.  Literally all Kim is concerned about is who she is dressing North in, I mean this is a baby of a few months old, Kim is dressing her for the status & is kidding herself if she thinks otherwise.

I just feel as though Kim has fallen so out of touch with the world that she is a made up character at this point.  I mean it's bad when Kris Jenner says that you are getting out of control with your elitist attitude & highbrow antics.  At this point I am not sure what Kim thinks this attitude is going to get her.  I feel as though people are really starting to get sick of it all.  Kim was always very into herself, but she has gotten to a point where she is obscenely over the top with it.  It seems as though Kim does not even have fun anymore because she only cares about her image & the material things she surrounds herself with.

I'm just writing this because like I said it's been on my mind.  I really wish Kim would knock it off & at least attempt to become a real person again.  Kim: you are pretty, & so fortunate, but you have become so egotistical that it makes me sad.  I just hope that someone at some point can bring you back down to earth, or at least back within its atmosphere.

Fashion & Figure Skating

When I was a little girl I loved with Tara Lipinski, I thought she was the coolest thing ever.  Those sparkly costumes, those twirls, that gold medal, to 6 year old me she was perfection.  When she was on "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch" in '99, I died.  I had a poster of her on my wall, the whole shebang, she was my idol.

Well fast forward 16 years & I still love watching the ice skating in the Winter Olympics just as much as I did when I was 6.  (This year I've been big on the ice dancing & really loved the gold medal performance by Meryl Davis & Charlie White, I mean it was flawless!)  Lucky for me one of my favorite former Olympians has been popping up in Sochi as a commentator, yup you guessed it: Tara Lipinski!  She has been all over with the ever fabulous Johnny Weir, & they have been making quite the fashion splash in Sochi, & I'm kind of obsessed with it!

They are hands down the best hosts at the Olympics & no one can contest that they are the best dressed ones as well.  Today quoted Johnny saying, "'that we’re trying to match and be cohesive on television,' Weir said. 'I think it’s TV 101 that you should look like your partners.'"  I couldn't agree more Johnny.  He also told Today that they packed:
 • 8 suitcases: "Three of mine are the size of Ford Focuses," Weir said. “And three of Tara’s are the size of Audi S4s.”
 • 22 pairs of shoes
 • 10 pounds of jewelry
 • 25 blazers
 • 4 fur coats (all Johnny’s)
 • 6 pairs of leather pants
 • 9 high-end purses
I mean they're are there for an entire month, I definitely would probably have packed the same amount.

They have been capturing all of their fabulousness on their personal Instagram accounts @taralipinski & @johnnygweir, & their joint account @taraandjohnny, which you have to check out.  They've been chronicling all of their chic fashion choices & their fun shenanigans, which are laugh out loud hysterical.  You have to check out their videos about picking out what to wear for the day!

Tara & Johnny are the perfect duo, that are making both my 6 & 22 year old selves very happy.  They are bringing a new, fabulous, freshness to figure skating commentary, one that I am loving.  Good move on putting these two together NBC, good move.

Have you been loving the Olympics?  What is your favorite event?

Bubble Bath

What girl doesn't love to relax in a bubble bath?  I know I do & there are a few essentials that I have decided that you need for a perfect bath.

Bath Bomb
Lush makes the best around.  My favorite of theirs is the Butterball, it smells like a vanilla dream & leaves your skin silky smooth.
Candle
I love one that matches the scent of the bath bomb that way you are enveloped in the cozy scent of sweets, this one by Boulangerie smells delicious.
A Magazine
While you're relaxing it's always fun to catch up on your reading, if I'm not wrapped up in a book at the moment I love to read the latest beauty & fashion mags.
Fluffy Towels
When you finish your bath you want a warm fuzzy towel to dry off with; the luxury doesn't have to drain with the bath water.
Body Butter
Finally you want to lock in all the moisture left behind by your bath bomb.  As you can imagine I love to keep in the same scent family again, this natural butter by Lavanila smells amazing & leaves your skin super hydrated.
I wish I was one of those people that could take baths all the time, but they are really more of a treat for me on a Saturday or Sunday.  I like to take them when I can just relax for the rest of the day, as I usually feel like a pile of putty afterwards!  I especially love when I can slip into a pair of cozy pj's & allow my body butter to really soak in.  It's always great when you can lay in bed & watch a movie once you've made yourself all comfortable.  I've been really wanting to take a bath lately, they're just so much more luxurious then a shower, & after writing this I will definitely have to take one soon!
Are you a bath lady or more of a shower girl?  What are your essentials for when you take a bath?

How Do You Celebrate?

I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Millennial Central for Marriott Rewards. I received Marriott Points to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

For my 16th Birthday I wanted to celebrate, I mean what girl doesn't want a Sweet 16?  After going to so many big parties though, I knew they weren't for me.  I felt like ever party I went to everyone was having a great time, except the birthday girl, she was always stressed about something, which I did not want.  I instead decided that I wanted to spend a weekend in New York City.

Snapshots of pages from my "Sweet 16" Scrapbooks:
Growing up staying in Marriott's every time I went on vacation, I knew the best place to was stay for this weekend was the New York Marriott Downtown, & I was not wrong.  The people at the Marriott could not have been nicer, & worked so hard to ensure that I had a great stay, they even had some fun presents for me--chocolates when I checked in & a gift basket in the room, which made me so happy.  I truly felt like a princess for my Sweet 16 thanks to their hard work!  Even though I may have taken the wrong friends with me (that's a whole other story), everything at the Marriott was perfect, & left my mom & I with memories to last a lifetime.

While I turned 16 back in 2008, this year Marriott Rewards® turns 30!  For its big birthday festivities Marriott Rewards® is  celebrating with all of its members for the entire year with Year of Surprises.  This means that for the big 3-0 Marriott Rewards® wants to celebrate by throwing your special someone a surprise party he or she will never forget.  Who wouldn't want to honor an extraordinary person in their life like this?!

What Marriott Rewards® wants to know is who that special someone is!  They want you to tell them who you want to celebrate & why they deserve to be celebrated.  They want to you to get creative, make them laugh, make them cry, make them smile, make them understand why that person is so special to you & why they deserve a super surprise party.  Head on over to yearofsurprises.com to share your unique story.

The first round of nominations for Year of Surprises are taking place from February 1st to February 28th.  These nominations are being viewed on just how awesome your application is; they want unique stories & original (but feasible!) party ideas.  Tell them about your Mom's big birthday, your sister's graduation from college, or your Dad's retirement!  We all have these big milestone moments & I know I would love celebrate them with a big party & have someone else pick up the check! (I know I'm not alone on that!)

So what happens is after all the nominations are in & the awesome people over at yearofsurprises.com pick their winners (yes winners!), three people will be awarded & announced in March, & parties will be scheduled each month throughout the year.  In case February is a busy month for you, there are 3 different opportunities (February, May, & August) throughout the year to nominate your loved ones for this amazing opportunity!  Just remember that there is only one entry per person, as we want everyone to have a fair chance (for all the other official rules check out yearofsurprises.com/rules).  Because of this great contest I have become a Marriott Rewards® Ambassador, which is something I am so excited about!  I have 2 more posts with them coming up in the next 6 months, so no fear I will be around to remind you if you get busy & forget about this opportunity that is not to be missed.

As I said before, I grew up staying in Marriott's.  I grew up with a father who traveled for work, & I always remembered him talking about these mysterious 'hotel points' he earned.  When I was little I thought the points were magic because I knew he would redeem them for hotel rooms for us when we went on vacation.

Top Left: On the deck of the Kaua'i Marriott Resort  /  Bottom Left: In bed in the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa
Right: In the lobby of the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront

Fast forward to today & I now know that these magic points were actually Marriott Rewards® points, but to be honest they still feel like they are magical!  Here's why:

"Voted “Program of the Year” 6 years in a row, Marriott Rewards has maintained excellence rewarding members with points to redeem for hotel stays, flights, exclusive events and shopping.  Marriott Rewards has maintained excellence rewarding members with points to redeem for hotel stays, flights, exclusive events, and shopping. Through their membership, guests earn status to receive memorable experiences during their hotel stays with benefits such as priority check-in and complimentary room upgrades."

The best part is, is that Marriott Rewards® is free to join.  Members can earn & redeem points at 3,700 hotels in 14 distinctive brands in 70+ countries around the world.  Members can also redeem points for frequent flyer miles, cruises, car rentals, merchandise & more.  Needless to say I now have my own Marriott Rewards® account, which gives me the chance to earn my own magic points!  You too can enroll right here at marriott.com/rewards & should get on that ASAP!  The points you earn will give you the chance to create memories at Marriott like the ones I have from my super Sweet 16!

Now I know I've thrown a lot at you, but this is some seriously good stuff!  I've got to get going though because I've got to decide who I'm nominating for the Year of Surprises, although I have a pretty good idea already!  Who will you be nominating?  (Make sure to  only tell me if you know they won't be reading along!!)

Simple Loves

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  On a day dedicated to love I thought it would be fun to share some simple things that I love.  Each of the things pictured are simple things that bring a little extra joy to my day.  I think it's fun to recognize things like these & acknowledge the little things that make us happy.

1. The Color Pink
I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this a million times, but pink is my absolute favorite color.  If something I need comes in pink that is the color I will be getting it in, which is something everyone knows about me.  It is a cheerful color & having items in this color just makes me happy.

2. Fashion Magazines
For as long as I can remember I've loved flipping through fashion magazines; there's just something about relaxing & getting lost in the glossy pages.  I want the real thing though, it's just not the same reading them on my iPad!

3. Cookies
I've always been a sweets girl & cookies are my favorite.  Whenever I'm craving something it's usually a cookie, the type always depends on the day though.  Nothing can make my day better like some delicious cookies can!

4. Pink Sugar Perfume
This smells like cotton candy & fresh baked cookies.  I always get so many compliments when I wear it, & it gives me a little confidence boost to know I smell yummy.

5. Sparkles
This is something I know I've talked about before, but I am a major sparkle girl.  Glitter can literally make anything better, I'm serious!

These are the simple things in life that bring me joy, what does it for you?  Please share below!

I hope everyone has a great day & enjoys their Valentine's!  Try to stay warm & safe this weekend if you live anywhere on the East Coast, it's complete craziness here with this weather;  if you live anywhere warm relish in the gorgeous weather!

Valentine's Outfit Inspiration

Look 1
Earrings: BaubleBar  /  Dress: Nasty Gal  /  Shoes: Lulu's
Look 2
Earrings: BaubleBar  /  Dress: ModCloth  /  Shoes: Steve Madden
Look 3
Earrings: Kate Spade  /  Dress: Forever 21  /  Shoes: Lulu's

Although for this night I will be in something a little more cozy (think yoga pants), these are a few pretty looks to give you some inspiration for a Valentine's Day date.  I love the simplicity in these looks because they each come across as super chic.  They are all also very girly, & will make for a lovely look.  I really love that pale pink dress  & just might have to pick it up for myself, it's my favorite color & only costs $12.80 at Forever 21!  I'm really hoping that the weather will perk up on the East Coast for the big day so everyone can partake in & have a great time with their plans.  Remember to enjoy the day whether you're in a relationship or single--it's a fun day no matter what!

What do you think of these looks?  Will you be wearing something like this or something more like what I will be wearing?

Pretty Medical I.D. Bracelts

I know I've mentioned before that I have crazy bad food allergies, & because of this I've been meaning to get a medical i.d. bracelet for a while now.  In my search of a bracelet I have learned two things: there are a lot of really ugly medical i.d. bracelets out there, & medical i.d. bracelets get get pretty pricey.  After figuring these out I came to the realization that I was probably not the only person that was having these problems.  So I did some searching & found some pretty bracelets that I wanted to share.

As you can see Etsy had the cutest options on the market.  While I love all of these, my favorite is #4, on this one you can print all around the entire bracelet & even on the inside (I have a lot to put on mine).  Now that I've found some that I like all I need to do is actually order one!

Which is your favorite?
