Positively Radiant with Aveeno

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for AVEENO® POSITIVELY RADIANT®. I received product samples as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

It's no secret that I love Aveeno products, I've always had dry and itchy skin and have been a loyal customer for years.  One of my favorite parts about Aveeno is their natural approach to beauty, specifically their products that harness the power of Active Naturals ingredients.  Aveeno's Positively Radiant Collection is a line of facial care products known to help even out tone and give you brighter, more radiant skin (what girl doesn't want that?!).  The Positively Radiant Collection features a Total Soy Complex, which brings a list of benefits to the products in this line - it helps to improve texture, tone, brown spots, dullness and blotchiness.  The skin benefits of soybeans were first discovered in Asia when workers in soy factories who handled the beans regularly noticed that the skin on their hands was especially smooth and even toned.  The scientists at Aveeno then developed a way to process soybeans so that they retain the proteins that harness the skin benefits.

When I got the opportunity to try out some products from the Positively Radiant Collection I jumped at the chance!  I've been a fan of Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 for quite some time (I think I've been using Aveeno facial moisturizers for the last ten years), but had never used the Positively Radiant Makeup Removing Wipes before so I was  really excited to give them a try.

Aveeno's Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 is oil-free, hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic, which makes it perfect for those of use with sensitive skin.  My favorite part about the Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer is that in addition to the Total Soy Complex it also contains natural light diffusers, mica and silica, to even skin tone and texture while reflecting light to visibly smooth imperfections.  When I put on the moisturizer I literally feel like my skin glows.  It also perfectly sets the stage for my makeup, when I wear it I love how my skin looks so much that I usually skip BB cream and only use a bit of concealer.  Additionally, the moisturizer has sunscreen (a must have in my book!) in it that helps keep your skin as healthy as it looks!

I'm a big fan of using makeup removing wipes to take off my makeup before washing my face at night and I love Aveeno's Positively Radiant Makeup Removing Wipes!  They easily dissolve all of my makeup and make taking my mascara off a breeze.  As other products in the Positively Radiant Collection they work to nourish your skin so that it is healthier and brighter looking.  Also like the Daily Moisturizer they are oil-free and noncomedogenic so they will not block your pores.

I've really enjoyed incorporating these products into my daily routine and plan to continue using them.  I also definitely recommend trying both of them out, you will not be disappointed (P.S. You can pick them up at Target!)!

Want to try Aveeno's Positively Radiant Collection for yourself?

September 2015 on Instagram

I really can't believe that we're already a few days into October!  The end of the year always seems to fly by and this year is no exception.  I'm almost halfway through the semester and it's hard to believe the official 'midterm' is this Friday!  The best part about this time of year is October Break, which starts for me on Thursday and means I'll have some fun activities posted up on here soon.  In the meantime I have a recap of my September for you via Instagram pictures.  Make sure to follow along to see all of my October fun - @theblushblonde!

My Little studied abroad in France last semester and I was super jealous missed her so much!  I started a collection of international fashion magazines when I went to Greece last summer and she brought me this back to add to it.  It was the sweetest gift ever and I was super excited not only to add it to my collection, but because it has one of my favorite models, Karlie Kloss, on the cover!

When I went home for Labor Day Weekend I had a lot of crafting to do because I decided to take on a second Little.  Coco loves to be a part of everything I do when I'm home so I pushed two of our dining room chairs together and put her on the one next to me.  She was very pleased with this arrangement and after a few minutes she curled up and went to sleep.  I'm convinced she thinks she's a person.

The most famous place on Villanova's campus is the St. Thomas of Villanova Church.  It's no wonder that it's the main landmark considering how beautiful it is.  This was one of the prettiest days of the month and I just happened to be at the church while no one else was around, needless to say I couldn't resist taking a picture. (Also who else is loving that you can do different size Instagram pics now?!)

This is my most adorable new Little!  My first Little's Little (so my GLittle) disaffiliated our sorority so it's just been the two of us for a while, which we didn't mind, but we both decided it would be fun to take new littles so our fam doesn't die out.  Now I have three little ones (two littles and a glittle) to love and hang out with!

This is my favorite craft that I made for my newest Little!  To be honest I'm kind of obsessed with it and I think I'm going to make myself one too and do a tutorial on here.  It was pretty easy to make and came out awesome!

I shared this the day I posted my Friday Fall Favorites.  I am obsessed with plaid blanket scarves for fall (like this one here) - they'll keep you warm and looking stylish!  I also love vampy nails and lips for fall and winter, my favorite lipstick is Revlon Super Lustrous Lipcolor in Black Cherry and my favorite nail polish is OPI Lincoln Park After Dark.

This is my good friend Nick, I met him when I was applying to Villanova and we've been buds ever since.  Nick is seriously the nicest person ever and I always love seeing him!  My family and I were hanging out with him and his family at the Parent's Weekend Football Game and I was so happy that we got such a good picture since we haven't taken one in a while!

We have this gorgeous historic mansion on campus that is now used for different offices and events. Every Parent's Weekend my Mom and I take a walk over to it and walk all around because it is so beautiful.  If you're a history nerd like I am and are interested in the history of this beauty you can read about it here.

I don't get many pictures with my parent's, but I was insistent on getting this snap at their last Parent's Weekend.  This was their fifth year coming up for it and I always really look forward to them coming, I really can't believe that this was the official last one.  Thankfully we had a great weekend!

I took this the last Sunday in September when I was struggling to get things done.  I'm always super lazy on Sunday's and sometimes (like this one) lack motivation.  I love this notebook that I got at the HerCampus HerConference this summer and the message on it!

So this was my September in pictures!  Come check me out on Instagram (@theblushblonde) and follow along with me to see more of what's here!  How was your September?

Looks for Less - Selena Gomez + Tutu Tuesday Linkup

I always love creating celebrity looks for less so that they're more attainable for those of us without a movie star's budget.  Recently Selena Gomez went on a whirlwind tour of London and Paris for Fashion Month and during this tour she wore a total of twenty-two outfits in just ten days.  The looks Selena sported while in Europe were some of her most fashionable and chic looks to date, it seemed like each one was better than the next!  Below I have taken my two favorite outfits that Selena wore and put together her looks for less.

These outfits are simple, yet chic and share the same accessories which makes them perfect for travelling.  I love how these looks are so feminine, but the leopard heels add a bit of edge.  Both of these outfits work well for everything from a party to dinner out with friends and are quite versatile. After seeing how stylish Selena looked on this European trip I can't wait to see what she wears next!

Recipe: Quinoa Arugula Salad

This recipe is a slight variation of a recipe my Mom found on The Chew.  I wasn't a huge lover of arugula before trying this, but it is so good in it I love it!  I think my favorite part of the salad though is the dressing, it is kind of sweet, kind of tangy and has a mustardy taste to it - it's now one of my go to salad dressings.  I also want to try making just the quinoa and putting the dressing on it because I think that would be delicious too.  This salad is so light and fresh and goes great with chicken to make a very healthy dinner!

Ingredients:
-2/3 cup dry quinoa
-1 cup arugula
-1/4 cup chickpeas
-1/2 red onion
-1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
-1 lemon
-1 tsp. dijon mustard
-1 tsp. Stevia

Instructions:
-Rinse quinoa with cool water.
-Cook the quinoa: Place quinoa and 1 1/3 cups water in a pot.  Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and cover the pot.  Allow the quinoa to cook covered for 20 minutes and then take off the stove.
-Drain the chickpeas.
-Dice the onion.
-Juice the lemon.
-Stir together the olive oil, lemon juice, mustard, and Stevia.
-Combine the cooked quinoa, chickpeas, onion, arugula, and dressing in a bowl.
-Toss the salad to completely cover with dressing.
-Enjoy!

What's your favorite salad?

Friday Favorites

Favorite Blogger Look Emily Jackson
Emily of Ivory Lane always looks fabulous, but I really loved this look when I first saw it on her Instagram earlier in the week.  This outfit is simple, classy, and so pretty for fall.  Also I am completely obsessed with her boots, how perfect are they?!

Favorite Vintage Pic Cindy Crawford Chanel Runway 1995
Last week Who, What, Wear ran "18 Retro Photos That Prove Cindy Crawford Is The Ultimate Runway Model" and the pictures in the collection are beyond fabulous.  While I loved seeing all the old snapshots this one of her in a velour Chanel logo bikini and matching jacket was definitely my favorite.

Favorite Girl Power Gigi Hadid Shuts Down Haters
I love, love, love Gigi Hadid and think she is one of the most beautiful women in the world.  I think it's awful that people have been giving her crap for having a "more curvy" body then other models because in my opinion she is so skinny!  However, unlike some runway models, she doesn't look sickly thin she looks strong and toned, and has a body type I think is healthier for women to aspire to.  I love that she took control of the situation in a classy way and shut down the haters.  If you haven't read her Instagram post (pictured below) you definitely have to check it out.

Favorite Old School Beauty Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps Pure-Castile Soap
I had been curious about this soap for a while and recently the little convenience store at school started carrying it so I picked up the Citrus Orange scent yesterday.  I haven't tried it yet, but when I looked on Pinterest there are so many different uses for it and I am excited to try a few.  One of my favorite pieces I found with different ways to use the soap is this one from Byrdie.

Favorite For Your Pet Homemade Pumpkin Dog Biscuits
I am one of those crazy people that will make homemade treats for their dog (because I'm kind of obsessed with her) and I recently found this recipe on Pinterest to try.  I'm excited to make these because they help with stomach problems and a few other doggy issues Coco is experiencing.  Plus dogs should be able to get in on all the pumpkin fun that is happening right now!  I think I'll make them when I go home for Fall Break and I will let you all know how they turn out!

What are your favorites this week?
