Girl Crush: Kendall Jenner

You may know from this post earlier in the year that I am not a fan of Kim Kardashian.  However, while I may be so over Kim it doesn't mean I'm not a fan of other members of the Kardashian/Jenner family.  Kendall Jenner is my favorite member of the whole crazy bunch.  So today I'm confessing that Kendall is my latest girl crush and below I'm going to tell you why.

1. She is insanely gorgeous.
Kendall is a so pretty and it's no wonder she's been super successful in the modeling world as a result.  I like that Kendall is a more natural beauty then other members of her family (*cough*Kim*cough*) and that she doesn't wear tons of makeup.

2. She has great style.
Kendall always looks fabulous and has her model off duty look down pact.  Her style ranges from edgy to girly to bohemian and more, making her a fashion chameleon.  She is definitely someone to look to for style inspiration when putting together an outfit.

3. She is seemingly the most calm member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan.
If you watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians then you've probably noticed that Kendall isn't as crazy as the rest of her family.  She seems to be more shy and reserved, which I think is a good thing for her!

4. She is a hard worker.
Kendall has been busting her butt with modeling.  She can often be seen running around on castings, traveling, and on photo shoots.  She has been putting a lot of time into her career and it seems to be really paying off.

5. She is an accomplished model.
She was a fixture on the catwalks during numerous fashion weeks, and has booked campaigns such as Givenchy, which are great accomplishments. In addition to the aforementioned Kendall has been on the cover of multiple magazines, which is huge.

6. She takes risks.
Kendall isn't afraid to take risks for her career.  She has gotten naked in the name of fashion quite a few times, and knows that nude can be tasteful.  I like that she's stuck to high fashion jobs and has taken the necessary risks for them.

7. She has tried to separate herself from famous family in order to work in the high fashion world.
I like that Kendall doesn't like to use her name to book jobs.  In the snippet above it explains how she prefers to go by Kendall instead of Kendall Jenner to separate herself from her famous family so that she can get jobs on her own.  Now we all know that she does get jobs because of who she is, but I like that she is trying to do her own thing and forge her own path.

8. She has fun.
It seems like Kendall loves what she does, loves her family, and loves her life.  It's awesome that she has fun working hard and doing what she wants to do.  Happiness is the best measure of success and how could she not be happy with the life she has?

So these are the reasons why I love Kendall Jenner and think she is girl crush worthy.  What do you think?

Fall Mood Board

In case you couldn't tell from yesterday's post I'm super inspired by Fall lately.  How could I not be, it's the most wonderful season there is!  Here is my full fall inspiration board.

Color Palette:
For Fall I'm all about pretty jewel tones like maroon, crimson, and navy.  I associate dark colors with the colder months, and I am happy to break out these shades after wearing lighter and brighter colors all summer.

Scent:
I'm allergic to pumpkin, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy smelling it!  I've been seeing everyone's Bath & Body Works Candles on Instagram and they look like they smell heavenly.  I can't have candles at school, but I'm home this week and enjoying all of my Mom's pumpkin candles!

Accessory:
I've been seeing floppy brim fedoras on so many fashion blogs lately and I am loving this look.  I'm a big hat person for when it gets cold out and I think I need to add one in this style to my hat collection.

Nail Polish:
Lincoln Park After Dark by OPI is a staple for Fall.  Painting this shade on short square nails makes for an incredibly chic look.  At any given time during Fall or Winter you can most likely find this on my nails!

Makeup:
Oxblood Lips are very big for Fall and you can see just how much I love them here.

Shoes:
While boots are great for Fall, booties are a bit unexpected and I think look even cuter.  They're are so many different styles like this pair from Dolce Vita.

Lusting Over:
If you saw this post then you know how much I love plaid scarves for Fall.  I really want to get a large plaid blanket scarf that I can wear all winter long.  Bonus: they're super cozy and warm!

Loving:
Chunky knit sweaters are my favorite to wear all Fall long.  I love throwing them on with leggings and booties for a cozy chic look.

Decoration:
Pumpkins are the perfect Fall decoration.  There are so many pretty pumpkin designs out there that it can be hard to choose just one, however this year I am loving gold or metallic pumpkins like the ones pictured here!

So what are your Fall inspirations?

Pinterest Loves

So long time, no see.  I haven't been here in about a week and then I show up late to the game today. Last week I had midterms at school and was beyond stressed out, so I decided to call out for the week as a blogger.  I needed to focus on my studying and get through the week, so I used up my imaginary one week blogging vacation.  This week is October Break aka a week to rest, relax, and blog up a storm.  I missed it here very much and am so happy to be back!  So starting today we will be back to our regular programing folks, new posts will be up 4-5 days a week!

Today I'm bringing you the Pinterest pins that I have been loving lately.  I have pins that cover all my favorite categories - fashion, beauty, crafting and recipes.  Without any further ado, here's what has been pinspiring me!

Fashion

Sweater Dresses
With the coolness of Fall in the air I have been swooning over sweater dresses.  Recently I've pinned quite a few different sweater dress looks onto my Dreamy Dresses board.  The thing I love about this look is that it is very versatile and can go from Fall all through Winter - you can go with bare legs while it's still warmer out, then add tights or leggings when it gets colder.  A sweater dress paired with boots has definitely been my favorite combination.

Pale Pink
Pale pink is an unexpected color for Fall and Winter, which is why I love it!  I'm a major pink girl so I love that I've seen so many pins of pale pink and blush coats and sweaters for the upcoming months.  If you're not a huge pink person, but like the color start small with pale pink earrings or a necklace to dip your toes in the trend.

Beauty
As a beauty addict I always love finding things to pin to my many beauty boards.  I always love beautiful braids for my Hairstyles board, any kind of natural products like this body butter for my Skin Care board, and nude nail polish looks for my Mani/Pedi board.

Crafts
I've been seeing so many really fun crafts on Pinterest that I am just dying to make!  (Now I just need the time to get them all done!)  If I had to narrow it down to just three to make it would be this DIY tassel blanket, any pumpkin decorating craftsand these fun glitter dipped cups that I've pinned to my Creative board.

Recipes
Pinterest is my favorite place to find different recipes because there are so many amazing ones to choose from.  Right now my mouth is watering over these red velvet pancakes with cream cheese frosting from my Morning Eats board, roasted brussels sprouts with garlic aioli from my Feed Me board, and cheesecake egg rolls from my Something Sweet board.

These are my latest Pinterest obsessions.  What are yours?

Cozy in Cream

To me cream sweaters are the epitome of Fall.  There's something about that cream colored knit that makes me think of cozying up on the couch on a chilly Fall night.  Here I have a few of my favorite cream sweaters for Fall, with one being prettier than the next.  You can pair these sweaters with leggings or jeans, and then wear ballet flats or boots depending on the temperature.  A look like this will carry you from Fall all the way through Winter.  The biggest bonus is that this is a comfy look with little to no fussing over it.  You will definitely see me rocking several cream sweaters over the next few months - they're my favorite!  Do you love the cream sweater look too?  Is it finally starting to feel like Fall where you are?!

Friday Five Confessions

It's finally the end of the end of the week, which means it's time for me to confess!  When I'm done feel free to share your confessions with me in the comments below - I'd love to hear from you!

 One
I confess that I need it to cool down ASAP!  I'm so over the unseasonably warm weather we've been having in Pennsylvania this week.  I don't want to be wearing shorts anymore - I want sweaters, scarves, jeans, and everything else Fall!

 Two
I confess that I cannot believe it's October already.  This school year is just flying by and it's hard to wrap my brain around.  I feel like we just started classes last week, not 6 weeks ago.

 Three
I confess that I am dreading midterms next week.  Exams always really stress me out and I am not looking forward to that at all.  I have 3 exams though and then I'm home free for a week, which is really freaking nice.

 Four
I confess that I'm dying over my new phone.  I am currently using my iPhone 4S, which I have had forever; I never got any of the 5s because every time I purchase an Apple product something new comes out like 2 weeks later.  So when my upgrade was due I knew a 6 would be out soon, unfortunately it took longer then I would have liked, but the day finally came!  The day after the iPhone was released I went to Verizon and ordered it, they said it would come October 3rd, but lucky me it came this past Tuesday.  Here's the unlucky part - they only ship to the billing address, aka my home address, which means I can't get it until next Thursday when I go home.  Now I know this is by no means a big issue or even really a problem, but it's just torturous knowing that my new phone is so close, but so far away.

 Five
I confess that I'm looking forward to going home next week, Fall weather, and all the fun that is to come during the rest of the semester!

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and that we actually get some cooler temperatures!

The Blog Baton

Have you ever heard of The Blog Baton?  If not you're seriously missing out!  The Blog Baton is an Instagram account (@theblogbaton) that was created by Mason from Mason...Like the Jarand every weekday a different blogger hosts the Instagram account documenting their day.  By holding the 'baton' you are able to show members of the blogging community your life and what you do during the day, in short it's an awesome way to reach new people and tell them about yourself and your blog!

I hosted The Blog Baton this past Monday, September 29th.  To say I was excited to hold the baton was an understatement!  I had been dying for the day to come ever since I found out about it a month ago; I would see what other bloggers posted on the account and couldn't wait for it to be me!  I even made a list of different things I wanted to share throughout the day so I wouldn't forget  to document important pieces of my life that show off who I am.  I thought it would be fun to recap today what I showed off when I hosted The Blog Baton!  I think this will be a nice way to 'reintroduce' myself on here, and show you some of the things that I do during the day.  Below the pictures I will include my comments I used for each one!

"Good morning everyone! I'm Kristin and I blog over at Crumbs & Curls (crumbsandcurls.blogspot.com)! Mondays I don't start classes until later in the day so right now I am working on my blog post for the day and getting organized with my favorite planner!"

"This is my blog that I love so much! I never knew how much blogging would change my life and what an amazing community the blog world is. I'm so happy that I started Crumbs & Curls one day on a whim, it's been an awesome journey so far! Stop by crumbsandcurls.blogspot.com and leave a comment so we can get to know each other! Today I'm talking about the fall accessory I'm dying to get: a plaid scarf!"

"This is my Monday #OOTD! I'm trying to squeeze in wearing skirts while it's still warm enough out not to need tights!"

"If you follow along on my Instagram then you may have seen this picture before! This is my dog Coco Chanel who lives with my parents when I'm at school, but she frequently visits me on campus! I took this shot a few weeks ago when she was visiting and we went on a walk!"

"I'm a Senior Communications at Villanova University, which is located just outside Philadelphia. I wanted to go to the center of campus and take a picture to show everyone the how beautiful my school is, but it started to rain so I had to head back to my dorm. This is a picture on my walk back from class, which I will say is much prettier when the leaves change!"

"One of my favorite parts of blogging is connecting with other bloggers! This is a letter that I got today from my blogger pen pal! I love getting snail mail, especially when it's from one of my favorite bloggers!"

"I love to cook and tonight I made gluten free pasta with homemade (nut free!) pesto! You can find the recipe on crumbsandcurls.blogspot.com under 'Recipes', it's one of my very first posts so you will have to go back a bit. My trick is to make the pesto ahead of time and freeze it so I have it on hand when I'm craving it!"

"This semester I'm taking a basic drawing course and I've been working on my project due tomorrow for a few hours now! It's not quite finished, but should be soon! I've never taken a class like this before in college, but I'm really enjoying it and love that I get to be creative!"

"I'm a founding member of the Lambda Gamma Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta! This is one of my sisters and I a few weeks ago at the Greekend football game! Joining a sorority is one of the best decisions I've made and I have gained the most wonderful friendships through it. Any other Alpha Gams out there?!"

"Well my time has come to sign off for the day! I still have some work to do before hitting bed and right now I'm working on my blog post for tomorrow. I've had a great time hosting here today! Thank you to everyone who followed along and a huge thanks to @masonlikethejar for this opportunity! Make sure to check out crumbsandcurls.blogspot.com and follow me on Instagram at @crumbsandcurls! Have a great night!"

I had such an amazing time hosting The Blog Baton and I recommend everyone check it out!  I loved the amazing response that I got and I really felt like I reached new people which was wonderful.  Mason is literally a genius for coming up with this and I am so thankful to her for letting me host for the day! If you liked what you saw here check out my Instagram @crumbsandcurlsand please let me know that you're stopping by from the blog!
