Pretty Medical I.D. Bracelts

I know I've mentioned before that I have crazy bad food allergies, & because of this I've been meaning to get a medical i.d. bracelet for a while now.  In my search of a bracelet I have learned two things: there are a lot of really ugly medical i.d. bracelets out there, & medical i.d. bracelets get get pretty pricey.  After figuring these out I came to the realization that I was probably not the only person that was having these problems.  So I did some searching & found some pretty bracelets that I wanted to share.

As you can see Etsy had the cutest options on the market.  While I love all of these, my favorite is #4, on this one you can print all around the entire bracelet & even on the inside (I have a lot to put on mine).  Now that I've found some that I like all I need to do is actually order one!

Which is your favorite?

Happy Birthday Bridget

Dear Bridget,
I cannot believe you are turning 19 today, I feel like just yesterday Mom & Dad told me I was going to be a big sister & I will never forget how excited I was.  When you were born I was so happy, even though I did not understand that you were supposed to live with us & asked Mom when you were going 'home', not realizing that you were.  I loved everything about you instantly & was obsessed with helping Mom take care of you.  You were such a precious little baby.

Since then we've made too many memories to count & I'm constantly reminded how much I love you & love being your older sister.  When we were little I had so much fun driving you crazy, which as I always remind you prepared you for the real world.  The times that I used to put your stroller upside down outside when I had to go inside to use the bathroom so you would not roll away (Mom always loved when I did that) to all of the Christmases I tricked you into showing me what you got me & then refused to show you what I got you, you've always been a good sport about me messing with you.  Since those days we've both grown up so much—it's crazy to think that we are 19 & 22, it feels like just yesterday we were babies.

Over the years you have grown into the most gorgeous girl, & I feel like I forget to tell you how pretty you are.  Over the years we have grown so close & have become best friends.  We have an incredible bond that can never be broken, no matter how many fights we have or how many times we drive each other crazy or are mean to each other.  We are stuck with one another & I love that; as you love to say "blood is thicker then water," which is so true when it comes to us.  Even though we had some years that we didn't get along, & we still have our days that we don't I know that you are always there for me, & that I am always there for you no matter what.  I will defend you until no end, which you already know.

Since we've gotten older we've gotten to have so much fun with each other.  From crazy long trips to NYC to hanging out in the living room watching Law & Order: SVU for hours, we always have a good time.  Whether we're grabbing sushi, hanging out at my apartment, or going out, we always make our own fun.  I love having you around at school & the fact that we are getting to that age where we can share friends.  I know that sometimes you get jealous when I call my sorority sisters my sisters, but you should always know that you are my one & only forever sister; like I said you're stuck with me.

I want you to know that you are such an amazing little sister & I could not ask for anyone better.  I know that most of the time I need a little extra help & you are always there to do it.  I know that sometimes I get agitated very easily & cranky, but I want you to know that I always love you & appreciate your attempts to be patient with me.  When I need someone to take care of me you are always there, which I hope you know means the world to me.  I know it's not always easy having a sister with health problems, but you take it in stride, & we make the best of everything.  I want you to always know that I am extremely thankful for all of this.  Thank you for being you, thank you for always being there for me, thank you for being such a great person.

Basically I just want to say Happy Birthday for the best sister in the world.  I hope you have the most amazing day & I cannot wait to see you later.  I'm dying to share some of the surprises I have up my sleeve for you & to give you your birthday present!  See you later!

Happy Birthday Bitch!!

Lovely Looks

{Left to Right}
Top: Express  /  Etsy  /  Nasty Gal
Bottom: INC International Concepts  /  Victoria's Secret  /  Allen Allen

With Valentine's Day at the end of the week it's time to think about what you're wearing for the big day.  With these looks the emphasis is on the day because I'm sure you want to get a little more dressed up for nighttime, & these will make for a cozy daytime look.  They all fit the theme perfectly & work well for 'Casual Friday'.  I would love to be wearing any of these adorable options to class on Friday, just to remind everyone how much fun this holiday is!

To go to class on Valentine's Day I will wear my knee length, double breasted red wool coat, a pair of red flats that have a heart on each shoe (it's the same placement as a Tory Burch flat), & a red ribbon in my hair to really get in the spirit!  I don't have any plans yet for that night, but maybe I will do something with some of my sorority sisters, which should be lots of fun!

What are your plans for the day?  More importantly what will you be wearing?

I Confess Friday

{one} i confess...
that I am ecstatic for Fashion Week.  This isn't really much of a confession considering how often I talk about fashion here, but I just had to mention it.  It's pretty monumental.  Maybe the real confession is though that I forgot that it was coming until last week.  Crazy I know.  However since I have remembered I haven't been able to contain my excitement.  I cannot wait for more pictures from the runway & the ever glamorous front rows of the shows.

{two} i confess...
that I may be even more excited for the Olympics.  I mean they only come around every four years (well it's two since the Summer & Winter Games are not on the same schedule) & I am kind of an Olympic junkie.  Not gonna lie I do find some of the sports really boring, but I just skip those & watch what I want! I cannot wait for the women's iceskating (GO USA!).
via

{three} i confess...
that I love makeup & have mastered a few techniques, but I really want to learn more & get even better with it.  I really want to work on learning to do eyeshadow 'properly' & need to actually do it instead of just Pinning about it.
via

{four} i confess...
that I get distracted so easily with the most simple things.  More often then not, when I have something to do you can find me on Wikipedia looking up random facts about something that pops into my head.  I really need to stop doing this because it only puts me further & further behind on stuff I need to get done.  Lately it's been aggravating me because I keep having to push back going to sleep!  Literally it's happened like 6 times since I started writing this.
via

{five} i confess...
that I love the snow & winter, but am over it at this point (this is big because I've never said this before).  It's just at the point where it's ruining everything & needs to stop.  I'm also confessing that I think that it's so stupid that school doesn't have better generators & expected like 6,000 people to leave campus.  I double also confess that I am not going to be a happy camper if we have to make up all of the classes the weather has caused us to miss.  Technically this is all one confession because it's all weather related.

Well that's all I have for today, do you have any confessions to share?

The Diva Turns 6

This little nugget turns 6 today!
Getting a dog is the best thing my family ever did & we are all so in love with Coco.  I cannot believe that she has been with us for almost 6 years; it seems like we got her yesterday, but at the same time I feel like we've had her forever.  Coco is sweet, friendly, & gives unconditional love.  She is also the queen of snuggling especially when we're sleeping.  Coco has quite the personality & is often very sassy, yet above all she is very spoiled & a true diva.  Coco is a wonderful dog & we are so happy to get to celebrate her birthday with her!  Here is her birthday wish list that is fit for a queen.

Club Monaco  /  Louis Vuitton  /  Ralph Lauren
Louis Vuitton  /  Tails in the City  /  Tails in the City

Well this is the list of things that she asked for.  Now do you see what I mean?  Pure diva.  Oh well I hope she's happy with some extra love & treats to celebrate the big day!  One of her birthday wishes did come true though - I got to come home for her birthday!

Yesterday we lost power & heat at school at about 9:00 AM, classes were cancelled so I figured I would pile on some blankets, go back to sleep & hopefully when I woke up the power would be back on.  I was so wrong.  The entire time I was sleeping I kept getting woken up by people running down the hallway screaming, but I just assumed it was people being excited for the snow day.  Then when I got up around 12:30 there were 5 emails from the school announcing that the entire university had lost power & heat, that they do not know when it will be restored, & that school would also be cancelled for today.  I then called my Mom to fill her in, & while I was on the phone with her my RA knocked on my door to tell me that they were asking us to leave the resident halls (because they were expecting the buildings to start to drop below 20 degrees!) & that he was on his way out.   So I called my Mom, & she & I decided that my Dad would have to come get me.

School post Monday's snow storm, pre Wednesday's insanity.

Well in the time that I was waiting for him to come get me (don't worry my room was still pretty warm!) it felt like all hell broke loose.  We got a few additional emails 'updating' us, asking us to go home (repeatedly) & announcing that school would also be cancelled for tomorrow.  People were running around the building freaking out, people were grabbing things & just getting in their cars, cars were flying through the parking lot, & there was a mass exit from campus that apparently was showcased on the Philadelphia news (I say apparently because I didn't have power to see it).  The school was trying to work on getting more back up generators because the generators in the dorms are only for emergency hall lights & the fire alarms.  By the time I had left they had opened one of the dining halls with a generator so it had heat, food, & places for people to charge their electronics.  However when I spoke with a friend before I left she was telling me that they were running out of food & that the dining hall was so overcrowded that they were asking people to leave.  In subsequent emails they have said that they have secured a few more generators & that another building will be up & running for tomorrow.

I have friends that live 6+ hours away that decided to go home, & girls in my sorority are in hotels because it is too cold to be at school; I offered to take people home, but everyone just wanted to go to their house which I completely understand.  It was so nice when I finally got home to the heat & light!  I live right where Hurricane Sandy hit very badly & the power outages at school were giving me deja vu.  It's just craziness that all of this went on in such a short period of time, a snow day turned into a disaster so quickly, & when I woke up yesterday morning I had no idea I would be sleeping at home last night!  Thankfully we live so close & I have such great parents who came to get me.  It's nice to be home & have a little unexpected break from school.  It's also great that I get to spend Coco's birthday with her so I can shower her with love & attention!

Where you live did you get hit by any storms?  It seems like the Northeast has been taking a beating this winter!

Keeping Warm

Winter this year has been brutal, we've been inundated with snow, ice, & freezing temperatures.  My goal all winter has just been to stay warm because there's nothing worse then being cold yes I'm dramatic!  Since I walk to & from class I spend a lot of time outside battling the elements, & have a few items that I could not do without again with the dramatics.  If you want to keep warm, while it's super cool outside you should definitely pick these pieces up.
Boots  /  Welly Socks  /  Parka

Knit Headband- I have been wearing knit headbands to cover my ears for a few years now.  They keep shield your ears from the nasty wind & also look chic.  Lately I've been rocking the one I got for Christmas; it's made from a fuzzy material & keeps my ears so warm.

Gloves- The gloves that The North Face makes keep your hands toasty & protects them from the cold.  I have really small hands, but their kids in size medium fit me perfectly!  Keeping your hands covered is really important because it will help to prevent them from drying out & potentially cracking.

Parka-  My parents have always been adamant that my sister & I have good winter coats.  When I was younger I thought it was so annoying that I had to have a coat on before I could go outside in the winter, but I am now so happy my parents did this because it got me in the habit of always wearing a coat.  I have a coat similar to the one above, but mine is by Gerry Outdoors.  I seriously cannot say enough things about how good the Gerry coat is.  My Dad picked it up for me for Christmas last year & I was a little turned off because it wasn't the cutest thing (not terrible, just not my favorite), however I gave it a chance & am very happy that I did.  It's great because it is a coat within a coat (you can wear them together or separately), like the one above.  When I'm wearing my coat I am completely protected from the weather & do not feel anything, not even the wind!  For once I will sacrifice my comfort for my fashion, but the look of the coat has really grown on me.

Waterproof Boots- These are a must have for snowy days.  I know a lot of people like the Bean boot, but I prefer to wear my Hunter's all year round.  I've tried a few different rain boots, & Hunter is by far the best brand.

Boot Socks- This is how 'winterize' my Hunter's.  These boot inserts help to keep your feet warm, & I can definitely feel a difference when I wear them!

These are what I need to survive the winter!  How about you?  Do you have any of the same items or anything different?
