Friday Favorites

Favorite Nail Color Essie Angora Cardi
This dark mauve is a gorgeous color and perfect for fall.  I've been seeing this shade pop up everywhere lately and love it more each time I see it.  I think I'm going to get my nails done on Sunday and this is definitely the color I want!

Favorite Home Decor Purchase Marble Canister
I purchased the smaller canister yesterday at The Container Store.  Lately I am on a marble kick so I was super excited when I came across these.  I am working on turning my desk into a desk/vanity area so I brought this to put q-tips in so that I have them handy when doing my makeup.  I love it so much that I might have to go back and get the larger one too - I just have to think about what I would use it for!

I am always a fan of Caitlin's style and often turn to her for fashion inspiration, but this year her fall wardrobe is even cuter then I could have imagined.  She's been wearing the most adorable fall outfits every day and shares them all on her Instagram account, @cmcoving.  For more information on her looks check out this post she did giving all the details.

I have pretty dry skin all year round, but it gets significantly worse in the winter.  I was in the market for a new night cream because the one I was using last year was discontinued (which makes me so sad!).  I got a sample of this from Sephora that was big enough for two nights and each night I used it I woke up with glowing, super moisturized skin.  Since I loved the results so I much I decided to purchase the full size bottle and I cannot wait to use it all the time!

Favorite Outfit Inspiration Lulus tumblr
I feel like every outfit I'm pinning on Pinterest recently is from Lulus tumblr page.  This tumblr is filled with beautiful looks (like the one below!) that are sure to inspire your outfits.  It also features a few beauty and home pictures that are equally as gorgeous.  I highly recommend checking it out - you will not be disappointed!

D.I.Y. Sassy Sequin Pumpkin

It is no secret that I love decorating pumpkins!  Every year I decorate my pumpkin in a different way and share it on here, if you're interested in other decorating ideas check out the designs I have done in the past here.  This year I was inspired by the sequin sun hat everyone was rocking this summer and the tutorial I did for a DIY version.  I wanted something simple, yet chic and a touch of gold and sequins was exactly what I was looking for.  This pumpkin was super easy to make and makes for an adorable decoration.  You can make this for your own home decor or even give it to a friend - it would also make a gift!

Supplies:
-Pumpkin
-Gold spray paint
-Computer paper
-Black pen

Instructions:
-Wash your pumpkin and allow it to dry.  (I used baby wipes on mine because it was too heavy for me to get in the sink and then I dried it off with a paper towel.)
-Spray paint the top third of the pumpkin gold, make sure the paint has a rough splattered edge.  Allow to dry.
-Write out the halloween or fall phrase you choose on computer paper (I kept my short, sweet, and very Halloween).
-Take the X-ACTO Knife, use it to trace the words you drew on the paper, and it will cut into the paper.  Doing this will create a stencil.
-Place the stencil you created on the pumpkin and trace the words with a pen, you will have to adjust the writing when tracing on the pumpkin so that it goes with the pumpkin's shape.
-Take the sequin trim and hot glue it to the words you just wrote on the pumpkin.  It's easiest to add hot glue to small sections of the letters and glue the sequins down.
-Allow the hot glue to dry (which takes practically no time!).
-Enjoy!
~Use pictures for reference.

Have you done any fun Halloween crafts this year?

Picking Pumpkins

Yesterday my sister and I went on our annual pumpkin picking trip.  She is home from school for her short October Break so I was glad we got to spend some time together, have a sister day, and enjoy some fun!  We actually landed up going to two different pumpkin patches because we decided to try going to a new one and it was a total bust.  Since we didn't like the first patch and there was absolutely zero variety in their pumpkin (meaning no white pumpkins, which I found rather upsetting) we went to our old favorite instead, which had all the unique and different pumpkins my heart desired.  I kind of went a little crazy with my purchases because I love pumpkin picking and decorating for fall so much!  If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I got one big white pumpkin, two small orange pumpkins, two peach squash pumpkins (that I don't know the actual name for), three mini white pumpkins, and three cranberry mums.  I also learned from a lady at the farm that white pumpkins are much more dense and heavy then orange pumpkins, which I did not know.  I would say that overall we had a very successful and fun day at the pumpkin patch - it's honestly a little sad that we only get to go once a year!

Like our looks?  Below I have linked options (and some of our pieces) to get looks similar to ours - and perfect for fall!

Favorite Fall Craft Decorating Pumpkins
I've got pumpkins on the brain big time right now.  My sister and I are planning a pumpkin picking trip for this coming Monday, which I am so excited for!  Every year I decorate my pumpkins in a different way so I've been trying to decide what I'm going to do this year.  I saw this on Pinterest and loved how simple, yet chic these pumpkins look.  I'm still not sure what I want to do for mine, but I will definitely be keeping this look in mind!  If you would rather buy already decorated pumpkins instead of making them yourself, you can get these beauties here.

Favorite Manicure Glam Autumn Manicure
How gorgeous is this manicure from Essie?!  It's perfect for fall and features beautiful colors that can be worn all through the season.  For the full step-by-step tutorial click here.

Favorite Jacket Suede Moto Jacket
I have been seeing suede moto jackets everywhere recently and am LOVING them!  They are so pretty and suede just seems so fall to me.  Moreover, a suede jacket is perfect for this time of year and fall weather.  To make if feel even more seasonal get one in a classic fall color!  I'm loving this, this, this, and this.

Favorite Fall Makeup Dark Lips
I am a huge fan of dark lips, especially for fall and winter.  They've been a favorite trend of mine for about two years now and they're still going strong.  I love a makeup look like the one below - glowing skin, a neutral eye look, and then dark, vampy lips; it's gorgeous for this time of year.  My favorite dark lipsticks are this in Black Cherry and this in Train Bleu.

Favorite Living Room Look Girly Glam
This living room is seriously a dream come true for me.  It is so feminine chic and I am absolutely in love with that pink couch.  I am still working on decorating my bedroom and have been looking at decor inspiration like this to create a space I love.
