So I'm finally getting around to sharing my pictures from Greece! Better late than never, right? I had like 500 photos from the 2 weeks I was there so I wanted to go through and edit them before posting them here. I honestly don't know how to do this other then doing posts filled with photos because there are just so many of them! I'm going to break up the two weeks into many posts that way I don't have so many pictures that the posts are just boring. I am preluding all pictures by saying I look a bit messy. I don't know how people take these glamorous shots when traveling, but it was crazy hot, very windy, and because I was with a group - quick moving. I give major props to anyone who gets pretty pictures of themselves while traveling and battling the elements that come along with that. The pictures I have here are from our hotel and first two days in Athens.
The hotel we stayed in in Athens was in an awesome location, it was in the middle of the shopping district and we were surrounded by shops. It was also near the Plaka, Acropolis, and all the cool sites we wanted to see. My roommate and I had a nice view of everything from our room, which I loved! There wasn't a pool in our hotel, but they owned another hotel 2 blocks away with a pool that we were allowed to use. It was absolutely gorgeous and had insane views of the Acropolis. We hung out there for a bit, walked around the city, and then passed out for a nap. After all of that we had a big group dinner at an outdoor restaurant located in the Plaka.
The second day we went to the site where Socrates was imprisoned which is the first picture above. We then went to a spot where they used to have assembly meeting in Ancient Greece and had class there. This site had spectacular views of the whole city and I was sure to take a ton of pictures (I paired it down here quite a bit!). That night a bunch of the girls in the group went to dinner at this great restaurant in the Plaka. The owner and waiters at this restaurant were so nice and made us a special dinner that was delicious!
Athens was a really awesome city that I enjoyed visiting. The next post about Greece will be about the day we went to the Acropolis or as I like to call it the day I climbed a mountain!
