Beauty Confessions

I thought it would be fun to put a little spin on the traditional confessional and share some beauty confessions today.  We all have crazy things we do for beauty, things we hate doing for beauty, and some mishaps we've had along the way when it comes to beauty, read below for a few of mine!

I confess that I hate washing my hair.  I find it to be so much work, take so much time, and just be an overall pain in the butt.  I hate everything from washing and conditioning it to putting in products and styling it.  I try to go as long as I can between shampoos (without being gross!) and am a major fan of dry shampoo.

I confess that I'm terrified of curling irons.  When I was a little girl I climbed up on the closed toilet to watch my Mom do her hair and makeup, we had a small bathroom and her curling iron was warming up on the back on the toilet, while I was climbing to sit I fell, reached out for something, and grabbed onto the hot curling iron.  I burned my hand really badly and lost all of the skin on it, while I (thankfully) don't have any physical scars from the accident I still have emotional ones.  I can use a curling wand, but am still afraid of curling irons to this day.

I confess that I'm really bad at remembering to wash my makeup brushes.  I'm usually a neat freak, but I always remember that I need to wash my brushes when I can't actually do it and then just never get around to it.  I'm actually really hopping that writing this will help me to actually do it this week!

|  FOUR  |

I confess that even though I love beauty I'm not a huge fan of wearing a ton of makeup.  I have a really simple everyday makeup routine and then I just add to that based on where I'm going.  When I have a full face of makeup on though I usually can't wait to take it all off at the end of the night.

I confess that I sleep in gloves sometimes.  My hands get super dry so from time to time I like to put Vaseline or coconut oil on my hands and sleep in cotton gloves that seal in the moisture.

Today I'm Confessing

I cannot believe that I have not have a confession session on here since July.  How have I gone that long without confessing to you guys?!  I'm not always the best at being an open person which is why I love sharing these confession posts on here and I am way overdue!

|  ONE  |

I confess that I am seriously suffering from senioritis.  I'm a fifth year senior and the struggle to get schoolwork done is so real.  I had to do five years because of some health problems and those health problems have been really acting up lately making my senioritis worse.  While I love my school so much I am happy to almost be done with schoolwork!

|  TWO  |

I confess that before I started college I knew nothing about sports and now I am a huge college basketball fan.  That is very important this week because Villanova is the #1 NCAA Basketball team in the country on both the AP and USA Today Coaches Poll for the first time in program history.  Needless to say it has been an exciting week on campus.

|  THREE  |

I confess that I cannot wait for my little sister to turn 21 on Thursday!  I've been waiting three long years for her to turn 21 so we can legally go out together.  I've gotten her so much fun stuff and am going to spoil her rotten when we celebrate on Friday!

|  FOUR  |

I confess that I have started watching The Bachelor this season and I'm loving it.  I'm not really into the series, but I was super bored with my TV choices and heard everyone talking about it so I started watching it a few weeks ago.  I honestly think it's a hysterical show because some of the girls act so crazy and the concept is so strange, but it does make for good television!

I confess that I am bummed out that the winter storm we were supposed to have yesterday didn't really happen.  I love the snow and am dying for another blizzard!  I really hope we have at least one last big snowfall of the season.

Confess Sesh

I hope that everyone has had a great week & has some fun plans for the upcoming weekend!  I realized I haven't done a Friday confession session since all the way back in January so I figured I was way overdue for one.  Without any further ado...

|  ONE  | 

I confess that summer is a major motivation killer for me.  I have so many things that I need to & actually do want to do, but I just get the overwhelming urge to bask in those lazy summer days & enjoy my time off from school.  Does anyone else feel that way this time of year?!

I confess that I have been on a major Goldfish binge lately & it makes me feel like a kid again.  They are just so tasty!

I confess that I am beyond excited that the United States Women's National Soccer Team won the World Cup & that they are getting a Ticker Tape Parade in New York City!  However I am annoyed that every time they mention it on the news it seems like they have to throw in that the team hasn't won the World Cup in sixteen years.  I don't understand why they feel it's necessary to add a negative to the story when the USWNST has won more Women's World Cups than any other team & our Men's National Soccer Team has never won a World Cup.

I confess that I am Insta-obessesed lately (follow me at @theblushblonde!).  I am participating in another photo challenge this month & I'm just having so much fun putting together a post every day & I love that it challenges my creativity every day!

I confess that I am loving the pictures from the Royal Christening.  The Royal Babies are just too cute & I always love Kate Middleton.

Beauty Confessional

|  ONE  |

I confess that in middle school it took me quite some time to get the hang of mascara.  I tried so many different brands before I could finally get it right and figure out how to stop it from constantly getting under my eyes.

|  TWO  |

I confess that I've always been fascinated with beauty products.  I have a distinct memory from when I was younger (maybe 3 or 4) of stealing my mother's bright pink Revlon lipstick and attempting to put it on, I instead ended up putting it on and all around my mouth and I had pink lipstick stains for a few days.

|  THREE  |

I confess that I have a have a fear of curling irons due to a childhood accident.  When I was little I used to love to watch my Mom get ready; one night she had the curling iron laying on the back of the toilet, I did not know this and climbed onto the toilet (which had the seat down) to sit and watch her do her makeup, I slipped, began to fall, and grabbed for something to hold onto, I instead grabbed the hot curling iron.  I had no skin on my hand for a long time and to this day curling irons still freak me out.

I confess that in middle school I would also put like ten different products in my hair, none of which I needed.  I now cringe when I think of how many things I was putting in my hair - including hair spray when it was still wet so gross.

I confess that I have a seriously bad beauty product hoarding issue.  I have so many random half used bottles of different products that I need to start using up and stop buying more.

I confess that I am so excited for this weekend!  It's Homecoming Weekend and the kick off for basketball season at school - I can't wait!

I confess that I am so happy that it is finally sunny outside.  The gloomy weather this week has been a big downer and it's nice to finally have some gorgeous weather!

I confess that I have been working hard on decorating my pumpkin I got for Halloween and can't wait to share it on here next week.

I confess that I can't believe Halloween is next week!  It feels like October has flown by!

Five Friday Confessions

|  One  |

I confess that I have been super lazy this week and have been taking full advantage of my October Break.  I've been sleeping in, spending some quality time with the couch, and ignoring my homework. It is definitely going to be difficult to get back into the swing of school next week!

|  Two  |

I confess that I have no motivation to do my homework.  Usually I do homework at the beginning of the break to get it over with, but this break I decided to put it off and now I have to do it.  Wish me good luck on finding that motivation!

|  Three  |

I confess that when I got an email about class registration this week that I was completely confused. I can't believe that it is already time to pick out classes for next semester, I also can't believe how fast the current semester is going!  Time flies when you're having fun.

|  Four  |

I confess that I'm really excited for Halloween this year!  I had a great time last year as a Flapper, and this year I am going to be a pilot.  I'm thinking of adjusting the costume I got though and making it more of a flight attendant look because I don't like the hat that came with the costume.

|  Five  |

I confess that I am unreasonably excited that Blake Lively is pregnant.  Blake is perfect, Ryan Reynolds is perfect, Blake and Ryan together are perfect,  and therefore their baby is going to be perfect. End crazy lady rant.
