Friday Favorites

I can't believe how fast this week has gone by!  It seems like July completely flew by and before we know it, it will be fall.  To end this summer month here are my Friday Favorites.

I call this color 'Barbie Pink' and think it is such a fun shade for summer.

Favorite Pinterest Board Neutral Palette
I am a huge fan of nude and blush tones and am constantly pinning to this board.
Follow The Blush Blonde's board Neutral Palette on Pinterest.

Favorite Moment Meeting Carly aka The College Prepster
This past weekend I was lucky enough to meet Carly at the Her Campus Her Conference I attended (which was an absolute blast!).  She is just as sweet and smart as you would imagine.

Favorite Throwback 'Boy Meets World'
Who didn't love 'Boy Meets World' as a kid? I so wish this show was still on the air, but the next best thing is catching reruns in the morning on MTV2.

Favorite Summer Salad Quinoa Arugula Salad
My mom made this meal last night after she saw it on 'The Chew.'  I am completely obsessed with the salad, especially the dressing - it was to die for and I can't wait to eat it again soon!

What are your favorites from this week?

D.I.Y. Confetti

This past weekend I went to the Her Campus Her Conference and wanted to add a special touch to my business cards so I decided that I was going to include little bags of confetti with them because who doesn't love confetti?!  However, when I went to the craft store to find confetti I couldn't find anything other than little tiny bags of confetti that I didn't like so my Mom and I came up with the idea to make my own.  Not only was I able to customize my confetti, but I had a lot of fun making it and it made a big hit at the conference!  Read below to find out how you can make confetti too.

Supplies:
-Several sheets of different colored pastel paper
-One sheet glitter paper
-Bowl

Instructions:
-Use the 1/2 inch circle punch to punch circles in the glitter paper.  It is easiest if you do one to two full rows of circles then cut off the paper left behind that has been punched and begin again.  Collect all the circles you punch in a bowl.
-Use the 1/4 inch circle punch to punch circles in the pastel paper.  For mine I used two sheets of each pink, blue, purple and yellow (eight sheets total).  Like with the sparkle paper, it is easiest if you do one to two full rows of circles then cut off the remaining paper and begin again.  Collect all the circles you punch in the same bowl.
-Mix.
-Enjoy!
~Use pictures for reference.

This craft is super simple, but it can be a bit time consuming, however I found it to be quite relaxing to do while I was watching TV at night and I thought the results were well worth it.  Also the best part is that you can use any color paper you choose, which means that you can make your own personalized confetti for any occasion!

All the Advice for Sorority Recruitment

While Villanova does our Formal Sorority Recruitment at the beginning of the Spring semester, I know that so many girls are gearing up to head back to school in the upcoming weeks for it.  Rush brings a flood of emotions & can be super overwhelming, but is completely worth it all in the end. Below I have for you the best advice from thirteen sorority members & alumnae from all different schools & chapters to get you through rush.  In interviewing these women the common theme is to be yourself during rush because that is the only way you will end up in the chapter that is right for you.  If you have any more questions about the ins and outs of sorority recruitment feel free to contact me!

If any sorority girls have any more advice please feel free to leave it in the comments below!

Friday Favorites

We finally made it to the weekend!  Here are a few of my favorite things from the past week to kick-off this Friday:

Favorite Celeb Sighting Kelly Rohrbach and Kate Hudson at the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation gala in St. Tropez
Kate Hudson's and Leo's girlfriend (who happens to be an actress and Sports Illustrated model) partied in major style for a good cause in the South of France.

Favorite Model Moment Cara Delevingne at the Paper Towns premiere in New York City
The supermodel has been hitting the promotion circuit hard for her much anticipated debut as a lead actress, however there's just something so special about a movie's New York premiere and the spotlight shined brighter than ever for Cara that night.

Favorite Hairstyle Braids, braids, and more braids
I have been obsessed with braids for quite sometime now and it is safe to say that the obsession is not going anywhere anytime soon.  Check out Amber's tutorials on Barefoot Blonde for the most gorgeous braids around.

Favorite Blog Post How to Start and Grow a Fashion Blog by Southern Curls and Pearls
Caitlin of Southern Curls and Pearls answers her most asked question and gives some awesome advice for all bloggers.

Favorite Song Good For You by Selena Gomez
I included this in my Summer Playlist last week and I still cannot get enough of it!  If you haven't heard it yet, you absolutely have to give it a listen.
