Beauty Review: Willing Beauty HY+5 Regimen

Dry skin is something I've struggled with for years now so I always love products that hydrate.  I was really excited when Christy, one of the co-founders of Willing Beauty, reached out to me about trying their HY+5 Regimen.  The HY+5 Regimen is a simple, non-irritating skincare regimen that pairs nature’s most powerful moisture-magnet, hyaluronic acid, with five anti-aging powerhouses: uber-absorbable vitamin C, anti-inflammatory prickly pear oil, marine glycoproteins with anti-wrinkle powers, thermally-activated bacteria to protect skin cells, and antioxidant-rich edelweiss flower to fend off free radicals. The five step skincare system includes a cleanser, day moisturizer, tinted SPF primer, serum, and night cream, which are created in small batches. In addition to this all of the ingredients in their products are EU compliant, reviewed by a member of the American Board of Toxicology, and Leaping Bunny certified.
I've been testing out the HY+5 Regimen for a few months now and I absolutely love the cleanser, day moisturizer, serum, and night cream. The DO OVER Nourishing Cleanser is creamy and gentle, but still works to sweep away dead skin cells, thanks to apple extract, without irritating skin. The DAYDREAM Illuminating Day Moisturizer is my favorite of the bunch because it is incredibly lightweight and makes your skin glow throughout the day. For nighttime there's PARTNER IN CRIME Age-Defying Night Serum and SLEEPOVER Replenishing Night Cream, which feature strong antioxidants and brightening fruit acids, respectively, to improve elasticity, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and encourage cell turnover and stimulation of collagen while you sleep.  I have to admit though was disappointed in the GET SET SPF 30 Tinted Primer as it was too dark for me to use with my fair complexion and I wish there was a tint free option.

Overall, I've really enjoyed using the HY+5 Regimen and have seen great results with my skin.  I love that all of the products are both safe and effective so I don't have to worry about what's in them and I can feel good about using them on my face.  I am especially excited to use the products during the fall and winter when my skin gets drier with the colder weather!

Fall is the perfect time to start this regime and Willing Beauty is challenging you to take the HY+5 Challenge!  For the challenge you use only the HY+5 Regimen for your skincare for 5 days and then share your results on social media with #HY5Challenge!  Also make sure to tag @willingbeautycompany and @thelbushblonde so we can see your results!

*I was given the HY+5 Regimen by Willing Beauty to facilitate my review, however opinions of this product are all my own.

What to Wear: Fall Transition

Top  |  Bracelet  |  Earrings  |  Tee
Joggers  |  Scarf  |  Dress  |  Joggers
Mules  |  Sneakers  |  Bag

This time of year can be tricky with fashion since it's technically fall, but the weather still feels like summer.  It leaves you wondering what to wear and trying to straddle the line between looking seasonally appropriate and being comfortable with the weather.  For now I'm loving short or long sleeve dresses or rompers for warmer days and then lightweight pants and tops for cooler ones.  Like for spring I am still obsessing over joggers for transitioning into the fall and love that you can wear both dressy and casual joggers depending on where you're headed.  Basics like graphic tees and long sleeve tees (especially ones with sweet details like on this one) are other great pieces to have on hand for this time of year and they can be paired with joggers, jeans, or even shorts depending on the temperature.  To stay on season it's smart to pack away sandals and wear shoes with a little more coverage like mules or ever trendy sneakers.  Lastly finish off your look with accessories (scarves, bags, and jewelry) that can help carry you from summer to fall to winter with ease.  Any of the pieces pictured here are perfect to wear from now through to winter and can even transition to winter with some styling tweaks.

Adding any of these pieces to your wardrobe is sure to freshen up your look to transition into fall!  What pieces are you loving for this time of year?

Meet Lucy

If you follow me on social media then you probably saw that my beloved dog, a Maltese named Coco Chanel, died a few weeks ago.  Coco's death was very sudden and I was left heartbroken.  My parents got her for me when I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at sixteen because I was always home and she was my best friend since the day we got her.

Since I'm still at home most of the time not having a dog was pretty rough for me and my family decided that we wanted to adopt another dog.  My Mom, sister, and I all have allergies to most dogs, with my Mom's being the worst.  Because of this we needed a hypoallergenic dog, but I knew that most dogs in rescues and shelters aren't hypoallergenic so it would take some time to find what we needed.  Since we had such a specific need I decided to start putting in applications and looking around early so that if a dog came up that was a good fit we'd already be prepared; it also gave me something to distract me while I was still grieving Coco.

Last Wednesday I was perusing Petfinder and just happened to come across a baby Maltese/Shih tzu mix (both breeds are hypoallergenic!) and decided to email the rescue she was at for more information.  They were so quick to respond and tell me that she was three months old, weighed three to four pounds, and they rescued her from a puppy mill in Missouri where she was going to be euthanized because she did not sell.  A picture was also included in the email and I absolutely fell in love with her!  When I told them I was seriously interested they took her off Petfinder that night and we began the adoption process.  She was at Open Arms ResQ, Refurral & Sanctuary in Pottstown, PA.

The amazing people at OAR made the adoption so easy and we were able to pick her up in Pottstown on Saturday afternoon.  So today I want to introduce you all to my new dog, Lucy!  We are so in love with her and my family is so happy to have another fuzzy family member in our lives as we were all really missing Coco.  We're also so thankful that we were able to aid in helping to save Lucy and become her (very, very) loving forever family!

If you are looking to adopt a new family member I suggest checking out Petfinder, especially now since there are so many dogs that were displaced during Harvey that need a good home.  Also if you are near Pennsylvania I also highly reccomend seeing what pets are available at Open Arms ResQ, Refurral & Sanctuary as they are a really amazing group and so easy to work with!

I'm sure that Lucy will be making quite a few appearances on here and I know that she will be all over my Instagram so make sure to keep an eye out for her!
