The Races in Style with America's Best Racing

A few weeks ago I posted about how we celebrated Father's Day, which also happened to be the first time I had ever been to a racetrack.  In that post I said that I definitely wanted to go back because I had such a good time, so I was absolutely ecstatic when America's Best Racing Ambassador, Victoria, invited me to come spend the day at Monmouth Park for United Nations Stakes Day yesterday.  Victoria could not have been nicer and invited me to bring along a few guests as well so I asked my family to come with me.  My Mom had to work, so my Dad, sister, and I headed to the Park to spend the day and had a great time!
Victoria met us at the gates with our tickets and escorted us to the Revelry Room which was set up with tables, lunch, and amazing views of the track.  Here we met another America's Best Racing Ambassador, Dan, who told us a bit about the races and handicapping.  My Dad really enjoyed talking with Dan because my sister and I bet based on things like numbers and colors, not stats.  However, it was quite interesting to listen and learn more about this impressive sport.
I loved getting to watch the races from the private box, it felt very glamorous.  It was also really nice to be in air conditioning with food, drinks, and such a perfect view of all the action.  There was a betting booth right outside the room, which proved to be very convenient, especially for my sister.  The girl loves to bet on the horses!  I placed a few bets, but yesterday was not my lucky day (it's ok though because I'm really there for the atmosphere!).
It was really awesome to talk with both Victoria and Dan about their jobs with America's Best Racing; they travel around the country promoting the sport of racing and showing the lifestyle, fashion, and competition that are involved. They were both so passionate about racing, racetracks, horses, and their jobs, which really came through when they were speaking with us. After spending the day with them it's not hard to see why they love it all so much - it's a beautiful sport that combines athletics, tradition, action, and glamour.
After watching several races upstairs in the room we headed down to the paddock with Victoria and Dan to see all the gorgeous horses.  It was wonderful that we were able to get so close to the horses and to watch them as they walked around.  They really are such beautiful animals that are so well maintained.  Of course we had to take the opportunity to take a million pictures while we were in the paddock because how often do you get to do that?!  (The second photo is with the lovely America's Best Racing Ambassador Victoria!)
To end our day we watched our last race in the stands at the finish line which was the perfect way to end such a fun day.  I want to give a huge thank you to Victoria, Dan, and America's Best Racing for having me and my family for the day!  We had an amazing day and love racing now more than ever!

  7. Sounds like a great day at the races. And you look beautiful! I love getting dressed up to go to the track in Saratoga, NY, where I work, which is the second oldest racetrack in the country (after Freehold Raceway).
