D.I.Y. American Flag Tank

I'm very excited for the upcoming holiday and was dying to make something to show it!  I found this tutorial on Pinterest and adapted mine from it.  Later during the week I'm going to do a post on how to style it so you are all ready for the holiday weekend.  I also have an awesome giveaway to celebrate the 4th, but before that happens don't forget to enter my Blogiversary Giveaway at the bottom of this post!

Supplies:
-Tank top(s)
-Blue fabric spray paint (I used Simply Spray in Blue Jay)
-Red fabric spray paint (I used Simply Spray in Red)
-Star stickers
-Painters tape (I used ScotchBlue Painter's Tape)
-Cardboard

Instructions:
-Put the shirt on and mark with tape the top of your rib cage (aka under your boobs).  This mark is where you will put your first piece of tape.
-Tape horizontally along the shirt with even spaces between each piece of tape.  If you want thicker stripes you can double up on the tape, or leave more space between the pieces of tape (depending on if you want thicker white or red stripes).
-Decide how high you want the paint to go on the straps and put tape on each strap (you can see this in the picture, make sure the two straps are even).
-Above the stripes put the star stickers, you can do as few or as many as you want.
-Place cardboard between the front and back of the shirt, so the paint will not seep through.
-Take another piece of cardboard and place it over the top with the stars, spray the striped part of the shirt with red paint.  Allow to dry for a few minutes.
-Take the piece of cardboard and hold it over the striped portion, spray the star part of the shirt with blue paint.
-Allow the shirt to dry for at least 1 hour before bringing inside and removing the tape and stickers.

-Wait 72 hours to wash on cold and dry on low.

I confess that I will be watching the Girl Meets World premiere on Disney Channel tonight, and am excited about it.  What 90's kid didn't love Boy Meets World?

I confess that while I get in the spirit and get very excited when America scores, other than that I have no idea what is actually going on when I watch the World Cup games.

|  Four  |
I confess that I need to order a Lilly Pulitzer Agenda like yesterday, but cannot decide what print and size to get.

I confess that I’m doing an awesome craft this weekend that I can’t wait to share here next week!  I might share some hints on Instagram over the weekend!

1 Year Blogiversary & a Giveaway

Today's the day!  The big 1 Year Blogiversary!  I cannot believe I've made it this far and that I've had a year's worth of stuff to post here.  I started this little place last year after I had surgery and was laid up for quite some time; I was bored and wanted something to do that would keep me busy.  I had no idea what I would actually do here, if I would stick with it, or what would it would come to be.  I'm pretty proud of the space I've created and hope to continue to grow it as time comes.

Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me.

Thank you to everyone who has ever come here, clicked around, read anything, and a major thanks to anyone who has come back.

Thank you to all the blog friends I've made for being great friends ins and out of the blog world, always helping me when I need it, and just being cool people.

Thank you to all of the experienced bloggers who I admire who have answered questions, emails, helped me, and have always been so kind to me.

Thank you to my friends and family for always helping me, going along with me, and making appearances on here.

Thank you to my Mom for being my biggest supporter and promoter, learning to take pictures and being an awesome photographer, and taking this crazy journey with me!

Now that I'm done being sappy I have some celebrations.  I have a few lists that I want to share that represent the last year, I thought lists of 12 would be fun because I've been here for 12 months!  I have my 12 Favorite Posts I've done, my 12 Favorite Blogs to read, and then 12 Random Facts About Me that I hopefully haven't shared on here before.  I also have lots of celebratory pictures with a yummy cupcake and a crown because those are Blogiversary necessities.  Finally if you stick around to the end of the post I have an awesome giveaway that I've been teasing you about all week!

Recipe: Gimme S'more

S'mores are a big summer tradition and have always been a favorite of mine, however when I found out I was fructose intolerant (6 years ago) they were something I could no longer have.  All marshmallows I knew of were basically pure high fructose corn syrup and all graham crackers either had high fructose corn syrup, honey (which is high in natural fructose), or both in them.  About a year ago I found fructose free marshmallows that have a fluff like consistency, and I use them to make Rice Krispie Treats.  A few months ago though my Mom found Dandies Marshmallows, which are fructose free and shaped like actual marshmallows.

They're delicious and contain no gelatin, tree nuts, gluten, dairy, peanuts, corn, wheat, fat, or fructose.  (I don't suggest making Rice Krispies with them though because they did not react well once they cooled, they got rock hard.)

Then a few weeks ago I saw a commercial saying that Nabisco had removed the high fructose corn syrup from their original graham crackers and to say I was excited was an understatement.  I can now make completely fructose free s'mores, and you can too!  Just in time for summer!

Ingredients:
Dandies Marshmallows
Nabisco Grahams
Hershey's Milk Chocolate

Instructions:
-Break graham crackers in half.
-Place 3 chocolate squares on a graham cracker half.
-Roast 1 marshmallow over fire or grill (if you do not have access to either of these you can always microwave the marshmallows!).
-When the marshmallow is roasted to your liking place on the graham cracker half with the chocolate and top with another graham cracker half.
-Repeat for as many s'mores as you like!
-Enjoy!

Happiest girl to have the first bite of a s'more in years!
